Wow! So I recently decide to purchase a Humminbird Helix 5 for our 17.5 ft Ranger Sport (1995). My plan was to mount the depth finder head unit on the driver's side and when I would stop to fish, I would be able to rotate it around to the front and use it that way as well being that I have a smaller bass boat and because I'm frugal and don't fish a ton anyhow. Ok, so it's a little inconvenient fishing from the front and having to keep turning to see my depth finder but it works just like I had imagined that it would. This RAM mount is strong, and simple to adjust to just about whatever position you need it to be in. I couldn't be any happier. This RAM mount does not come with any hardware to mount the Humminbird Helix 5 bracket to the RAM but its no big deal. I went to the hardware store and purchased some stainless steel locknuts, washer, and bolts and mounted the Helix bracket to the RAM in no time. It does indeed come with screws that allow you to fasten the RAM's base to your boat though. Super satisfied that I bought this thing. I love the fact that after a day of fishing I can quickly disconnect the depth finder and RAM mount and store it out of the way where no one can steal your depth finder.

The mount is very well made, very sturdy, easy to install , I like the way I can adjust it in just about any position I want with just a little turn of a handle. I have not been able to get out on the water yet but lm sure it will be fine, it is very solid , I gave the 4 star only because I have not tried it on the water

While I had never used a RAM mount before, this was the easiest way to add another fish finder to my pontoon with ease. Mounted to the side of one of my front storage boxes with stainless machine screws and nylon nuts on the inside with a support plate. By far the easiest and DIY friendly mount out there.

This thing has a grip like nothing else. Either bouncing down the road or across the water, it does not move, unless I want it to. Makes adjusting it to see super easy and takes 2 seconds. Will definitely use again when the need arises.

I am making a battery bank from an ammo can,and mounting my fish finder to the top so it will be portable(multiple sized boats).I haven't mounted it yet as mount did not come with screws or bolts.I'm not complaining as there are many mounting applications and this way I'm not spending money on extra parts not fitting my application.This mount is heavy duty,again not complaining 'cause I want my finder to remain in place.Although weight could become an issue.The simple design seems very versatile.Its exactly what I wanted ,and I think it will work great.I would recommend this mount due to its bullet proof design and versatility.I will know more as I use it and will comment further.

I had no great place to mount my humminbird helix on my bowrider without either covering the gauges or having it blocking the windshield. This thing saved the day and provided the leeway to mount easily without being in the way. As an added bonus it will rotate 180 so I can see the fish finder from the captains chair or when fishing from the casting deck on the bow
