You shred paper instead of crumpling the paper and throwing it in the trash. FBI can look into these crumpled papers and then you know what they ill do. You don't want that. Be paranoid and see a shrink.

This shredder is GREAT if you want your sensitive papers shredded to near dust, well beyond reconstruction.
This shredder's intake paper capacity is the only drawback, being able to take 3-4 sheets at a time-a real PITA, which is my wife's greatest complaint about this shredder! Therefore, it takes time to shred large volumes of paper.
If you have the money and the time to shred only a few pages at a time, this is a great shredder.
I am keeping my shredder well lubricated, oiling every 15-20 minutes of use. The next higher priced shredder has an automatic oiler, but is much more expensive. It would have been nice if the company would have included this feature on this model as well. My Fellowes shredder eventually died. We tried to have it repaired. Turns out Fellowes uses PLASTIC GEARS WHICH FAIL OVER TIME. I believe this company, Ideal, might have used better, more durable components, as implied on some of its advertising.

This is an office quality shredder, which I bought for home use after blowing through several low end shredders. It is rated level P7 (the highest level based on ISO standardization) which qualifies it for NSA use for destruction of secret and top-secret documents. Once the paper is shredded the bin is basically full of thick dust like material. Although it is a high price for home use it was worth every penny to have the peace of mind that comes with being able to permanently destroy documents that could be used to steal my identity, etc.
