I have had steel manleys pliers that were very good. These aluminim ones are no better than less expensive aluminum pliers. Fine for small jins and cutting braided line. They struggle with 100# wire.
Not there yet.

Squeeze hard if you want it to close completely. I finally found fishing pliers that don't have a split ring beak. I have used Manley parallel jaw pliers in the past and found them to be excellent. These cut braid, but the grip on a hook is weak. Do I have a defective product?
Otherwise a good product.

It feels like a well built tool.
A bit big for a medium size hand. The handles are too far apart.
The sheath could be a bit more conforming.
The lanyard that came with it is too weak; if the pliers are dropped, they will hit the deck. I had to replace it with a stronger lanyard.
The cutters are sharp enough when new. Time will tell on how they hold up.

I have been very happy with these and they are a great set of pliers for saltwater. They are very lightweight and easy to use and the cutters went through 12lb line like I was cutting 8x tippet. Highly recommend these over some other fly fishing branded pliers that start in the $200+ range. I have one of these branded product's reels and would rather invest in the reel vs the accessory. Plus, at this price, you can easily replace these if you lose them in the water or if anything happens to them.
Great fishing pliers

Great fishing pliers. Strong, light, and durable. Cuts braid like nobody's business. I actually broke the cutters on the pliers cutting the barb off a hook I was trying to get out of my friend's hand. Contacted Manley, told them the situation, and they sent me replacement line cutters at no charge. Great pliers and great customer service. You can't go wrong with these pliers, and I have no problem recommending them to anyone. If something does go wrong with them, Manley has got your back.
