I read up on so many of these and settled on this one in the $30 range. Initially thought it was not going to work as it was so light weight and I did not see any side straps going up for bracing. But.... It is REALLY GREAT and I wear it every day almost all day with no problems. Other reviews had the same "no strap" comments. Well, it's perfectly designed and it's like a sock you put on and lace up like a shoe with very long shoe strings which gives you lots of slack to loosen up to remove or put on without having to re-string the lace every time. Well thought out. Once that is in place THEN you bring the velcro straps from behind the foot over the instep and around under the heel and then pull it very tightly UP and attach the velcro. Then the strap for the other side as well. I am amazed at the support given. Then, finally you bring the top two pads together with the velcro for top support and showing the icon. Finally, with the braces I've had that don't fit the shoe, and squish the side of the shoe out of shape to get the bar up my let and ready for the top strap on my leg just below the knee are pretty much gone. This holds things in place very well. My condition is "drop foot" and it helps quite a bit with that plus the ankle support. My foot wants to turn under in the "club foot" condition. this helps a whole bunch on that. My heel moves out of place and needs support as well. I work that by pulling the one support strap under the heel very tight on the needed side. The other strap I leave a little loose. It works well. I will be back for several more so I can hand wash them out and always have a dry one to use. The ONLY negative I have found is that the shiny and slippery material used in the sock makes it slide on a smooth floor if wearing it without the shoe. Be careful. Hard to put on. If you're looking for something "quick", look elsewhere...
Expected lower lateral ( left to right ) support ! And it seems to me . . . to be small to non-existent ! What the hell !
I kind of feel a pinching action an inch behind the toes.

The major reason you ultimately do NOT use the product is because they fail to clue you in on the "shoe size' problem . . . Your current shoe with the addition of the stabilizer is too tight and ouchie. Just go back to the show store and purchase an additional ( identical ) pair of shoes but are a size of E / EE wide. Problem solved with the pinch pain !

The seller sent this item wayyyyyy later than the confirmed shipping date. They wouldn't let me return the unused product so I tried it on (although I had bought several others to replace this one since it was taking so long to get to me). The material is not soft and it was not comfortable wearing with shoes. I can imagine that it might be somewhat useful when wearing around the house (with socks inside) because it did stabilize the ankle, but it didn't work for me. Maybe the seller and their refusal to accept my return made me a little biased, but the other 3 ankle supports that I bought on amazon were superior to this product. They were cheaper and made of more softer and elastic material

Great product. I had surgery on my right ankle almost early teens so I have many issues if jogging too much or placed in a wrong position while sleeping. ASO ankle stabilizer does a wonderful job keeping my ankle in line and provides efficient support. I mostly wear it at night so my ankle doesn't twist or bend at an awkward angle but I would this any time I have any discomfort.

I wish I had bought it sooner. I had a bad ankle sprain that got me sidelined for months. I wish I had bought this right after the injury, I would have been able to run again much sooner, no doubt. It works great, you definitely feel stable, your ankles won't roll for sure.
