Product might have been fine as designed, but the unit I received was broken or defective; the lights were not secured on the inside. Result was poor light distribution, and not bright enough to boot. Returned product for refund.

The Porta-Trace I received, from seller Hyatt, arrived without the manufacturer's box. The light was not very bright, although the surface was evenly lit and the box appeared well made. I was disappointed that the plug was two-prong and the cord seemed flimsier than the others I've seen online from this manufacturer. I have to wonder if I received a refurbished unit, sold as new. I recommend potential buyers do their research first by reading up on the Gagne website (the manufacturer) and watching the videos so you know what you're supposed to get. I returned mine. It just wasn't bright enough to do much of anything with.

This worked perfectly with my negatives. They were the older kind that would not fit in a scanner feed and along with the converting app with i phone this did more than expected.
