A Filling Meal - for $2.53 Nonetheless
Gnosis✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 14, 2023
A delicious and filling meal for $2.53 as of this review. My price per can of Ty Ling mixed chinese vegetables was $1.66 + .87 for a package of NongShim ramen = $2.53 rounded up - for one person. The Ty Ling adds crunch and texture to every bite. Plenty of small corn cob chunks, and water chestnut, plus bamboo peels and bean sprouts - visually in that order. The first time I did not feel I needed a second package of noodles.

I felt it needed a dash of bright color and I added a few pimentos. Try not to overwhelm the sweet, delicate flavors with a lot of salt - I did not use the spicy soup package that came with the Nongshim ramen. Would be excellent with chunks of velveted chicken.

I do the IF/OMAD lifestyle (Intermittent Fasting / One-Meal-a-Day) popularized in a BBC documentary and recommended by Dr. J. Fung. That means that the one meal has got to taste good and not create any unpleasant after-effects, and this fits the bill.

If you thicken the juice with a slurry of starch (like corn starch) and add some colorful veggies (peas, bell peppers, chopped greens) you have the base for a chop suey topping for rice.

I have yet to try the Ka-Me and La Choy canned mixed Chinese vegetables.
Keep these on hand for quick meal prep!

Bought these from Amazon because.my local store stopped carrying them. Great for stir frys....you don't have to buy multiple cans of each ingredient....they are already mixed in one convenient can. You know, you can never get enough veggies!

I don't know what they want me to say about corn.
And I don't know what 'thickness' means.
