Great for exploring mines.
KHar•January 2, 2017
I bought this for exploring abandoned mines and I couldn't be happier with its performance. As several reviewers have noted, this light is bigger than a typical LED headlamp, but this one fits just fine on my helmet. The beam is very narrow and the light illuminates deep into dark mine tunnels and shafts. (I use a handheld light for more diffused light up close). The only thing I'm concerned about is the light's battery life -- I'll be testing this in both modes and will post an update.
Thanks!

Its kinda heavy and bulky on the head and puts out a decent focus-beam!
Good for looking for ships over the horizon!
My BORUiT headlamp takes 3 AA batteries and is 1/3 less bulky that puts out the same amount of light
but in a wide-beam, just a couple dollars more!
*JUST COMPARING

Long Range Illumination, focussed beam penetrates smoke and dust/airborne particles like no other LED I've seen.

Living out in the country where there's no street lighting and plenty of bumps in the night that make me go out to check on my horses/stock, I've accumulated a pretty good portfolio of quality LED lights. LED lighting is a boon, providing plenty of illumination with very little current, so it's possible to have very bright lights in a very small package. However, I've found a downside to LED lights is they reflect back from any airborne particles--dust, smoke, moisture, rain, snow--much more than their incandescent predecessors (and in fact, halogen fog lights remain the best choice for the vehicles). Now to this Odear light: for some reason this Odear light, with its single LED light source but nicely contoured reflector producing a tightly focused beam, punches through with a minimum of glare. I've got another light with five of the very same LEDs as the single LED in this Odear, and a side by side comparison is amazing: the multiple LED light does put out more light overall, but much of it is dispersed and there's a good amount of glare (off the wildfire smoke that presently occupies the air). The Odear light isn't dispersed, and it punches right through. I'd in our present conditions conditions where there's very thick smoke from a nearby wildfire, the Odear is able to illuminate clearly up to 200 yards, while the other light can't penetrate past 100 yards. I'll also add, reducing reflected glare has obvious advantages for reducing the amount that using a light at night reduces your night vision. The downside to this Odear light is the weight, but it is easy to live with it for the functionality it provides.
Love the Lamp, it is about 800-900 Lumen

I bought Odear Lie Wang 35 Watt headlamp which is so bright, it is about 800-900 Lumen nearly same as my big Stanley hand lamp (2LB) 900 lumen, it looks a little bulky and biger than normal headlamp, but it is really bright and still less weight than my Stanley handlamp (2LB).
I will buy Odear Lie Wang 35 Watt headlamp again soon, highly recommended.

Love these lights
randal brandon•August 15, 2016
Love these lights. I own 5. One for each vehicle plus a few for hunting and fishing. They are heavy on the head compared to a regular head lamp but that's to be expected considering the size. Batteries last at least 5 hrs on high. That's the longest I have used one continues. It is a spot light so don't expect a large diameter of light. Extremely bright for it's size.
