Worked like a charm
Buyer Beware!

Maybe you can make this work, I haven't figured it out. The instructions are totally incomprehensible, obviously written by someone with little English fluency. The illustrations are wrong, nothing like the actual product. Finally got it to work once, but the next time it just sat there and clicked. I'm giving up.
Works really nice. A little complicated to set up

Works really well. A little complicated to set up, and wish the box wasn't so big that it has to be seen next to the logs, but it does the job and being able to turn the logs on and off from across the room while sitting in my recliner is sweet. I'll probably throw an extra decorative log on top of the box to disguise it.

The minuses? The "learn" button for marrying the remote with the control box should be on the battery box and not hidden inside the control box which is next to impossible to access once the logs and the grate and the gas lines are in place. I am hoping I don't have to futz with the valve box every time I replace the batteries. I gave this product a one star deduction for the price and the location of the learn button. Also, be aware that if your log set is less than ~65,000BTU that you will have a very small range of adjustment for the flame (was told this when I called the support line, which were helpful with a couple of questions. I wish there was something of a "gain" control to make it work better with lower BTU log sets). Since my log set is only 55,000BTU, the flame range is almost negligible. So keep this in mind, as a simple on/off control which is less expensive might be the better buy. I'm keeping this valve just because I might want to regulate the flame in the future, although the adjustment will be small. Another issue is that my fireplace would only support an 18" log set and even then, the room in the fireplace is limited to place the valve box and thus mine sits less than the two inches from the grate legs suggested by the instructions; the valve sometimes overheats the 130-degree limit (which seems rather low for a fireplace valve that has to sit somewhere IN the firebox .. I can't imagine how this will be affected by a much higher BTU log than mine) and shuts off and emits a constant four beeps. I was able to fix this by wrapping three sides of the box with an aluminized heat barrier adhesive fabric (the kind that you buy in an auto parts store to protect electronics under the hood from exhaust heat -- it is also sold here on Amazon) which is supposed to protect electronics for up to 2000-degree radiant heat. That seems to have stopped the shutting off and I believe as much heat was coming from the outer wall of the firebox as it was from the gas logs itself.
Probably has save my house from exploding!

I spent a very long time trying to find a system that would keep my wife from blowing up the house when lighting the fireplace. She has terrified me a few times when the match that she tossed into the fireplace went out without igniting the logs.

This was fairly easy to install. It also has some great safety features that are built in. I really like the one button start up.

I added a few pictures that may help with installation. The unit is inside the fireplace, but is not really feeling the heat. Just don't close the fireplace doors because that could cause the unit to be exposed to more heat then it is designed for.

Great Service, arrived on time, already pre-wired ready to go. Connect the gas and press the remote. Perfect!!
