Little on the large side. Works great over quilted jacket with a base layer sweatshirt. High quality and comfortable. Pockets are very bountiful. Holds numerous birds and several boxes of 12 gauge shells. Going to order a size down for when I hunt with just a sweatshirt on or a shooting shirt.

Excellent vest for the money...runs a little large. Good protection form briars and stickers plus it looks pretty sharp!
Pockets are deep, did not carry my birds but would be easy to reach. Inside pocket for money or phone.

This was a gift for my 15 year old cousin and he loves it. It's much heavier gauge cloth than my old gamehide vest and much stiffer, but that will wear in with time and washing. Great orange - nice and high visibility. Good sizing - runs a bit large - just as you want for an over garment. good value, I felt the price point was reasonable. The only down side is the zipper I don't know if the kid is just not paying attention or what but it undoes itself from the bottom every time he puts it on - seems to work fine for the rest of the day on the second attempt though so it doesn't appear defective - in any event, it is kind of puny for such a nice over-garment, but it seems to get the job done.

Fits good just a tad bit big, room for layers in the cold. I'm 6' , 210 lbs, broad shouldered,otherwise slim, always wear an XL in everything, and this DID leave room for layers! I ordered a L very well made stitching was good.

The Gamehide Upland vest is an affordable, yet quality canvas based vest. This vest was purchased for my father, a long time pheasant hunter who had always talked about getting a vest that was more substantial than the $5 plastic vests. Well, after searching and reading reviews, we came to this vest.

Beginning with size, this vest runs a little big. It seems that this is on purpose, making this vest suitable for wearing over other heavier layers. My father is about 6', 190 lbs and fairly athletic build, and he nearly always wears a size Large. I am 6'6" and 235lbs, athletically built, generally and XL and I seemed to fit his vest just fine. That being said, he appreciated the extra size to be able to wear either a Carhartt or other sweatshirt underneath it, so ultimately the decision to drop a size is up to you.

The build quality and features are also very well done. The majority of the vest is actually a heavy canvas with slightly padded fabric on the shoulders. Unlike some other hunting vests I have seen, the back pouch is a very strong material, definitely capable of holding your limit of birds. The front of the vest has she'll holder capable of holding at least 12 gauge and 20 gauge shells. I have only tried these two calibers, so I can't speak about 28, or .410 shell's, although I imagine they would be just a little small. The pockets have quality zippers and plenty of room for whatever you may want to bring along.

Overall this vest is a quality vest, for a very reasonable price. Hard to go wrong, and seems like a great product from Gamehide.
