Pretty easy to program if you use FreeScan and RadioReference ...

Pretty easy to program if you use FreeScan and RadioReference website. Receiver seems to be sensitive enough to get decent reception with only the rubber duckie antenna indoors.
It goes through the battery like crazy! On a full charge

I have owned many scanners over the years, and some since this one. Not impressed with this one. It goes through the battery like crazy! On a full charge, left on one channel maybe 2 hours. If scanning, 30 minutes. Battery life on this, sucks. Hard to program as well. I do like the features it has. So, that part I do like about this. But thats about it. I would pass on this one and go for a BCD436HP instead

VERY poor battery life!
Robert Thomas JrNovember 20, 2017
This scanner seems to do well with reception for higher-powered agencies. The only problem I have, and it's a pretty big problem, is that the battery life is POOR to say the least! It sat on my desk for 2 days in the off position after being fully charged. Came back to work and it was dead. Had to go back on the charger.

While on, I'm lucky to get a shift out of it. Has to stay plugged in whenever possible. Perhaps the batteries are bad? Not too sure but the battery life is awful.

Not a bad little scanner, though.
