I bought this for my 5 year old daughter so that she would have this for the Christmas season. My daughter loved it! She even took it away for a weekend trip to keep up with the advent calendar. We LOVE playmobil and integrating daily gifts into our collection. However the miniature items from this set, Christmas room and the santas workshop advent calendars are most often used in our 1:18 scale dollhouse - plants, wine glasses, toys, advent calendar, nativity set, Christmas cookies and gift boxes. They may seem like more small pieces of plastic but are incredibly versatile and enhance imaginative play in our house. These calendars really deliver year long value
This kit could have been so much better for the price. I don't see it getting played with much.

Some of the surprises were cute and collectible while others were kind of a waste and she was not excited when she opened them. For example, opening an empty hanger or the weird plant like thing with the candles that didn't stay in. I expected a bit more for the price and overall she was not excited when she opened it each day. I opted for this because I was trying to avoid more candy during the holidays but maybe buying the $1 chocolate advent calendar will be the way to go next Christmas.

My son loved this set! Playmobil is a great company and I was excited to see that they made Advent calendars. It is a great alternative to the chocolate filled ones and at the end you are left with a complete play set. Another benefit is that they have so many to chose from, each child can get a different theme!
