Good solid tool

My primary purpose is to make rings from 1/4" steel rod and this tool makes it very easy. Prior to the purchase, I was heating the rod in my forge and then bending the rod around round discs. It worked, but was a pain. This tool changed everything.
The learning curve is not that steep, and after a few rings, you get the hang of (1) how to get the rod started, (2) how many times you turn the knob to tighten the ring diameter, and (3) keeping the rod aligned with the grooves so it doesn't curve. I'm still struggling a bit with the first part of the rod being a bit straight (after completion of the ring), but I'm sure I'll get that sorted out. The machine puts tiny ridges in the rod, but they are barely visible. I would definitely buy this tool again.
I haven't done any flat stock yet, so therefore can't comment.
