After having now used this item for a couple of weeks I can easily recommend it to others. It's a high quality and essential tool for the kitchen that makes seed grinding fairly effortless. It's larger and heavier than any mortar and pestle I have ever seen or used. I found it to be very user friendly and can recommend it for those individuals who, like me, have aging and arthritic hands One caveat that does not appear in the item description; you will have to break it in using a variety of seeds. The instructions for the break-in process are included on the package.

Works as intended, but make sure you read the directions on how to "season" it with rice. It takes a bit of elbow grease but so does using it lol.

Brand new out of the box we started grinding rice as the instructions tell you to do, while grinding the rice the pestle broke in half. Contacted seller and they refered me back to amazon? Very disappointing
