I like our new meat thermometer so far. It has a few features that make it better than the last one we had: 1) a separate on-off button so I can leave the thermometer open without running the battery down. 2) the thermometer makes a loud sound when the target temperature has been reached (so I don't even have to look at the reading). 3) it uses 2 AAA batteries rather than coin-style batteries. And the price is very reasonable. Time will tell if it lasts longer than the last one (3 years).

This has been the best addition to my kitchen! I made the mistake of washing the whole thing (oops) and the color changing stopped but the gauge still reads the temperature perfectly. Helps me ensure my pork chops, chicken, etc are cooked through and through! No more cutting into it to reveal half cooked meat....

Simply put you stick it into food it reads food temperature let it sit for at least three seconds for accurate reading let it sit a little longer 10 seconds for perfect reading it's a little difficult to do while food is on the grill in your hand is above a grill that is 400° and rising but it gives an accurate reading and it truly is a game changer very affordable very cheap not cheap quality though I recommend it also has preset modes for all types of meat and tells you when to take it off and what temperature is well done and what temperature is rare
