My wife and I bought this for my 4 year-old. He did nothing to put it together, it was a little challenging for him, but my 7 year old didn't have any problems. It is a fun set with great features. The Mystery Machine opens to reveal a little crime lab, and the tree monster is pretty fun too. My biggest complaint is that it was too hard for my youngest son, but I did plan on helping him put it together. He loves Freddy, Shaggy, and Scooby, as well as the van. It is fun to assemble, and a great toy to play with.

Bought this for my 8 year old son's birthday and he loves it! The age stated is 6-12, but he's just turned 8 today and it's a little above him. This is Mainly due to the fact that the pieces are tiny to small and the time and skill level required to complete it. There are 2 double sided step by step building guides required to build the mystery machine and the tree. This takes a lot of time and patience and most likely an adult to help. I would put the minimum age at 9 to 10 years old myself.

Comes with Fred, Shaggy, Scooby, a Zombie. Magnifying glass actually works, flashlight, Jewel, tree and of course The Mystery Machine, which is the centerpiece of the set.

This Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine lego set is so much fun. My kids opened it immediately after it arrived. Since this box contained over 300 pieces, it took my kids longer than typical time. There's a little bit of a challenge but it took them a good afternoon to complete it. But when it finally completed, they had so much playing and of course I am hearing the theme song with it ... scooby scooby doo .. where r u?
In conclusion, I rate this scooby lego set 5 out of 5 set. I was glad we got this today for a rainy day. Just perfect and they had lots of fun fighting to get the characters as well

My oldest girl has always loved Legos. Now that they make Lego Friends and all these different characters, she is even more involved. She received this for her birthday and took her only 1 day before opening and putting it together. It is great because it works her mind by having to read directions and seeing what the next step is. Also it is A LITTLE time consuming so great to have your child do if you need time to get things done. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!!

Spent quite a while putting this together with my daughter. When we got to the first missing piece I thought well because it's so small maybe we dropped it unknowingly so we continued. Second missing piece I thought hey we are getting careless, gotta pay more attention, again another small one. So by the third piece which was quite to large of a piece to just had dropped off the desk unnoticed, I became truly annoyed. Not only was this the third piece missing, it was a substantial building block to the vehicle's assembly and of a color that we wouldn't have in any other of her lego sets. My daughter was very disappointed. We were both very frustrated as we had already spent significant time assembling it. I tried to convince her that we could MaCGyver it but she refused to have non coordinating colors on her van and I didn't blame her. Requested a replacement. Let's see how that goes.
