Made in China... The pendant is supposed to be waterproof but the screws that hold the sides together are not rustproof and rusted through allowing water to get inside and destroy the unit after only 3 months of use. The sales manager determined that they were not going to replace it even thought there were no signs of physical abuse. The pictures are the ones A.T.S. sent me showing why they weren't going to replace the unit since water got into the waterproof housing. We're trying to get our money back through PayPal since A.T.S. has washed its hands of our problem. The fall detection is a joke and is based on pendant position so if you are sitting in a chair it alarms. My wife had fallen and broke her rib but the alarm did not call 9-1-1 because according to A.T.S. "she did not fall in the right position". We purchased 2 units plus the bluetooth adapters so that they would work with our cell phones. We also spent an additional $40 in postage returning these units to A.T.S. several times. Both of our units have had to be returned because they weren't working. I am still waiting for A.T.S. to return the bluetooth adapter I purchased since it can be used elsewhere. We spent over $700 for these units and feel that it was money flushed down the toilet.

Cheap, complicated, and the instructions are lousy. I was unable to set this unit up for my mother.
Works Well, Although Man Down Feature is Lacking

The device works fine for my mother-in-law. and while we bought this unit for the fall protection, the fall protection is far from perfect. It detects when the pendant is tilted about 30 degrees. It doesn't have an accelerometer to detect a drop, etc. This is a problem when she reclines in her easy chair, it keeps going off. We finally had to disable the fall protection to keep her from taking the pendant off. Of course she always had to take it off at night to sleep for this reason.
Also she continues to bump the button when she wears it around her neck while at the sink doing dishes. She can stop the cal from going out by pressing 'cancel' on the pendant, but it takes her a little time to do it and sometimes we get the call before she can cancel. We could shorten the necklace but we would also need an easy connect clasp as it won't go over her head in a shortened state. The current clasp is not 'elderly friendly', somewhat difficult to connect, so we leave the necklace long enough to put it on over her head. She tries to be careful now not to set it off while doing dishes.
The device does send out the call immediately, up to 3 different numbers, and this works well for our family as we all live within a few miles of each other and from Mom, so someone is always around if needed.

Sad this didn't work out...

It was very complicated to set up. The included instructions were not complete, so I called customer service and they were very helpful and got it all set up for me. For some reason though the pendant would start talking out of the blue and my dad couldn't figure out why. Then it said it was out of range within the range they state the product has. Also, my dad has a "beer belly" and when he was sitting the pendant would rest on it and it would think he fell and start beeping. I'm really disappointed that this didn't work out, I really wanted it to.
Better than a montly plan.

Seems to work well... instructions for set up were a bit unclear... you have to go through all the steps whether you want some options enabled or not. After figuring that out, set up was fairly easy.
