Great bag for traveling

Love this bag! I use it to travel and it has held up nicely. It will fit under the seat of a plane if necessary, but it is a bit snug, so I usually try and put it in the overhead bin. The bag holds a lot of stuff, if my wife and I are going away for the weekend this bag holds enough stuff for the both of us. If one of us is traveling alone, we find that this bag is good for holding 3 or 4 days worth of stuff (unless we have to bring multiple pairs of bulky shoes). I haven't had any issues with the inner, red and white striped, lining bleeding as some reviews mention, and I've carried it through multiple rain storms. I wouldn't say it was waterproof, but it did a pretty good job of holding up to a downpour. There are multiple pockets inside which make organizing easier, and add to the utility of the bag. Only issue is that the plastic piece on the drawstring broke the first time I used it, but I have since knotted it and it has worked fine since. I would definitely recommend this bag.

It holds a lot of stuff inside the main compartment, its interior pockets, and with all the exterior pockets, has performed well since I bought it to travel by car, bus, and train between New England and Virginia. It is rugged and well designed; the leather straps and magnets are sturdy and are holding up well. My only dislike is the red/white fabric used to line the inside. Dark blue/white or tan/white would have been better. I would rate it at 9.75 out of 10.00

Function:
The bag is spacious, with well-padded straps that make it comfortable to wear and interior, side, and front pockets that make it convenient to store smaller items. The buttons snap shut via very strong magnets, which aren't easy to pull off. (Which bring a nice peace of mind in case I'm wearing this while on a crowded train or bus.) I bought the black nylon version, which according to the product description makes this water resistant, but I haven't had the chance to test that yet.
Style:
Details such as the interior red and white striped lining and buckle straps really elevate this design.
I'd also recommend paying $1 for the two bag option. The smaller clutch is well made with an interior and exterior zipper pocket that makes it convenient to carry loose change, my phone, etc., if I want to step out with carrying my entire backpack with me.
The one thing that was off putting was that when I got this bag it had an overwhelming chemical smell emanating from the bag. I left it outside for a day to air out, and it still retained that intense smell. I've been using this for a few days now and the smell is mostly (but still not entirely) gone. I originally purchased the green canvas version of the backpack but did not notice it with that.

So incredibly happy that I purchased this backpack for my trip to China last month. It kept my belongings safe and secure (macbook / canon camera etc) and stayed in perfect condition all throughout numerous airports/ rigorous security checks, flights, hotels and train rides.
