This mat is soft and cushiony-great on the knees if you are doing any exercises with knees on the ground, and after unrolling, it is pretty good about flattening out. This may be unfair, but I knocked off one star because I have real doubts about the mat's durability. I have only used it a few times so far and not actually had problems, but the top surface does feel like it would tear easily if something on my clothing or keys or something were to catch it, so I am trying to be careful. This would annoy me more if I had spent more money. For what I spent, I figure it is fine.

I like the extra thickness and how long it is. My tailbone thanks me for buying it. The only thing that bugs me is the ridge pattern. When looking down at it while doing yoga it makes my eyes go buggy. I understand why the ridges are there but is it irritating. I just close my eyes when looking down. I don't know if the shade of color adds to it or not. It seems that if there is a printed pattern, image or swirl on the mat it breaks up the pattern of the ridges. Maybe I'll try to paint an image on this and see if it helps.

This is a reasonable thing to buy for those who react to their bodies being on hard surfaces. It is quite soft and forgiving without being so soft that one sinks right to the floor. It is very pleasant and convenient with the elastic straps and carrying handle. The price seems quite reasonable for this as well.
