A great ice pack.

This stuff stays cold forever! I've used this in my shoulder sling and it gets super-cold out of the freezer... and lasts an incredibly long time. Long enough that my shoulder is numb before it's thawed out.
Best ice/heat wraps

We have many kinds of ice packs/wraps. They all work but with many limitations. These are simply the best we've found. They are thin and comfortable and mold to body parts better than the others. Because they are thin, they don't stay cold as long as most of other brand's thicker larger ones (very often too thick and too large and consequently uncomfortable or awkward to use) but they are so far superior in all other respects that these are the only ones we use. We bought 3. Tip: use the other brand thicker larger ones to keep these cold by wrapping both together in a towel for quick bedside access to a fresh cold wrap even hours after removed from freezer. These can also be heated.
Fits perfectly, works well.

Fits the sleeve I already have great. Haven't used it warm, but works just great as a cold wrap. Would be slightly happier with it if froze just a little less solid so that it could wrap closely right when removing from freezer, but it only takes a minute or two to warm up enough to do that. Would buy it again.
Disintegrates after use in microwave

I loved this pack as a cervical heat pack- you pop it in the microwave and it heats your neck for 30 min... But after 5 times in the microwave, the gel inside congealed, creating a bloated air pocket! Probably should only be used as an ice pack! They are great in the freezer...
The "Wrap" On Icewraps

As an avid exerciser, I stock our freezer with an assortment of ice wraps and packs because I can be certain that sooner or later an injury will ensue. Over the years, I have tested many of these simply-designed products which I have used mostly for soft tissue injuries, back discomfort and sprains. I purchased this product predominantly for use as an ice wrap for a back injury. The Icewrap was inserted into a flexible open-mesh pouch attached to an adjustable Velcro belt purchased separately from another manufacturer. Here are my thoughts, assessment and opinion based upon my own personal experience and needs:
Product Advantages:
1. One of the most convenient standard sizes of gel-packs on the market. The 6x10 size is compatible with many applications sold through medical appliance vendors.
2 Product is available in 5 colored gels and multiple sizes.
3 Manufactured in Canada.
4. Both microwave and freezer-safe for cold and warm applications.
5. Useful for keeping foods cold in conjunction with portable Styrofoam coolers.
Product Concerns:
1. Volume of gel in Wrap appears not as full compared with competing products.
2. The stated MSRP Price point of $19.99 appears considerably inflated for a product of this size and quality. Equivalent products can be purchased for less than what this costs even at $8.99.
3. Icewraps is supplied in a cellophane wrapper approximately the same dimensions as the product itself. This makes it a challenge to remove without cutting and/or puncturing the Icewrap as I did when attempting to remove the wrapper. This is a packaging issue easily addressed by the manufacturer.
4. Heat distribution: When used per the instructions as a heating pad, the gel appears to heat unevenly and inconsistently, regardless of the microwave power level percentage, and it becomes a trial and error process which is inconvenient.
Recommendations:
1. This is a product which can be made better for users for the above-cited reasons. If using as a heating wrap, I would suggest that the manufacturer consider more specific usage instructions tiered to variations and differences in microwave wattage since most residential microwave units range from 850-1200 watts. Manufacturer should specify microwave power percentage in addition to time intervals.
2. Ask a veteran physical therapist for a recommendation if you need a really good cold/warm wrap-they are experts and know exactly what to look for since they use them 24/7/365.
3. The availability of 5 different colors may be attractive but does not improve product performance.
4. Opinion: This is a marginally-acceptable product when both price and performance are factored into the product equation. If you do not need the heating feature, my pick for a well-made wrap designed for both comfort and performance is the Flexi Kold gel wrap (half size) (7.5x11.5").
