Nice leash ! But large dogs feet constantly get stuck in lower handle.
Luv✓ Verified Purchase•December 27, 2017
It's an 'almost' perfect... but the handle is 1-too far down to grab quickly . 2- constantly captures the dogs foot .
I walk dogs as a job. And like the length as I can wrap on one wrist and hang onto leash with other hand as not to loose a dog. On well behaved dogs I can allow the whole length (which is where a well behaved dog becomes wrapped up in handle ) . I did loop leash they handle which was nice. But if handle was one foot back on the leash this would be a perfect leash.
The feel is awesome. The handle feels good on hand. Like the flexible feel of it , in lieu of hard plastic inserts some have on leash handles.
So ,for price I would recommend.
But beware on dogs who walk well you're going to have to loop leash or constantly take dogs foot out of the lower handle.

We have several leashes but have been using this nonstop since I bought it a few months ago, because (although it has really annoying flaws) the length is perfect for a front-attach harness (there are no other good options at 8' without a second loop) and the weight of the webbing lets me throw the leash under my dog's neck to switch sides.
Ours is red. I really wanted black, but now I think getting a leash this long in black is a bad choice, because you can clothesline or trip people if they can't see the leash, or someone might think your dog isn't on leash at all and be frightened or stir up trouble. As they do.
For the most part I really like this leash buuuut:
The handle hole is TOO BIG. Also, because the handle is padded, it stays open like an O, and that combination lets the handle slip right over your hand instead of conforming to your wrist. I always put my wrist through the handle then wrap my hand once in the leash about a foot down, which makes the leash a bit shorter and gives me a little slack to let out for safety, if my dog lunges or jumps into a ditch, etc. Well, if I lean over, the handle will slide right off of my arm and onto the leash, so I'm only holding the leash by one wrap around my hand. I'm quick, it's usually okay, but you have to fumble with the 8 feet of leash, which are now crocheted together, and if your dog lunges right then, and you're untangling the leash, it could be a problem, especially if you have something in your other hand. It's always the worst times when they lunge and the handle falls off. (Yes, I'm training my dog. She's a headstrong, highly prey-driven bully breed we got as a stray, and she came to us with some severe issues that I'm dealing with as a novice. Yes, she's getting better, and yes, I'm learning. The issues with the leash are still relevant.)
If you're using a front-attach harness, the thick handle at the clip end of the leash will be useless for you, and slap your dog about 120 times a minute. The faster your dog runs, the faster it will slap them. It's padded which makes it heavy, and it's also not flexible, with a lip on one side, so it catches on things (including the harness, and my dog's face). I was going to cut off the lower handle but my sister likes it, I guess because she's short and she doesn't walk as quickly or use it as often. The lower handle is just really not great. On any leash like this. If you're tall, or your dog is short, and/or you're using a front-attach harness which lowers the handle...It will be useless or almost useless. You have to double over to grab it. If it's an emergency it's hard to grab it at all. I wish they'd make one you could slide up or down, or remove.
The edges of the webbing will cut you if your dog lunges while you're grabbing the leash. We walk in the forest, and my dog (more than once) has tried to go for a rabbit or whatever, so I grabbed the middle of the leash to stop her, but I didn't get it wrapped around my hand and it slid fast and hard across my palm. Ow. They used a satin weave for the webbing. It looks really nice and feels good normally, but it's slippery.
The reflective stuff is a nice idea but doesn't seem to do much, and with use it breaks in spots so it pokes you in the hand.
I wish they would make a leash like this without the lower handle. It doesn't need it. It's easier to wrap your hand in the leash near the bottom than to try to get your hand in the lower handle, which catches on everything anyway, and weighs a lot.

Love this leash !!! I was looking for a leash that could with stand my pit mix and give me enough space so i wasn't on top of my dog well she did her business outside this is the perfect solution !! Before I was using horse lead lines that lead to me having rope burn on my hands , but not with the super soft handles on this leash !! Stitching has held up great I'm about a month into using !! The short handle comes in handy at the vets office or when I bring my dog to friends houses and I need my dog to sit down near me during a meal or to stay off furniture!! Overall I really love the length and style and strength of this leash!!!
It takes a bit of forethought and effort to work with your dog when using a two handled lead.

When I first started using these leads with my dogs, I worked with them in the yard, swapping from long to short, training ME to handle the lead in the most effective manner without dropping the longer part on the ground. The dogs learned my motions in the process and to respond to the way they feel me handling the lead, they know when I am about to take up the slack and get a hold of the second handle, they know but that doesn't mean they care or are always willing to work with me! (ha ha)
(Dobermans, 98 lb. three year old, 75 lb 15 month old.)
Having set myself up (trained myself) to be rote function with the lead makes it a lot smoother to do the swap even when they don't care I am doing the long to short swap with them.
I keep a tab leash on their collars along with this leash if I am using it in a high trafficked are be it people or vehicles so I can get hold of them close to their collar and control their actions. This one is a bit long at the short handle for good control over the fur baby near traffic or things that the dog might want to make a fast break toward or lunge at and even more so if you use it with a harness over some kind of collar that helps you control the animal ( we use martingales)
Both our boys are "tuggers" and that's when the short handle comes in handy, it gets us close enough to their collar to slow them down and if need be close enough to get a hold of the tab lead on the collar.
Even with the short handle being out from the collar to far, I am giving it five stars for the quality overall. The seams are sewn solid, heavy thread, I don't feel like they would give way as long as normal care is taken with the lead. The snap clasps are strong
Lost one while traveling a while back and had to replace right away and paid 40 bucks for the same darn thing at one of the big box pet stores. I'm buying a couple of extra here on Amazon just to keep in case I get scattered brained again!

Could be helpful, when you need control

since my wife prefers using a leash, rather than the Flexi, we ordered an extra long version. Our bullmastiff-mix puppy is now 90+ pounds, and the inner handle has proven itself as most essential to nearly anyone with a large breed dog. Since dogs are strongly individual, it's nearly impossible to satisfy every situation. Therefore, I want to clearly state our preference and satisfaction for the two handles model in the extra long lease. The product is rugged, and appears to have held up, despite varying conditions of rain, sleet, snow and temperature. We will most likely buy the same model when a replacement is needed. I highly recommended it for owners of medium size to large breed dogs, and when you need the extra length leash. However, I gave the product four-stars because my wife reported the inner handle should be a foot further from the dog.
