I had a 2nd degree tear while giving birth to my daughter 6 weeks ago. OUCH was an understatement! That's a tear to the vagina AND muscles associated with it as well. Sitting down on this as part of my postpartum recovery journey REALLY helped me heal faster as I didn't disturb the stitches I received (both internally and externally) when sitting down. I'd recommend this to ANY mother as part of their postpartum journey, even if they didn't tear (or had a C-section), the vaginal area itself could be very sore from the birth process. The last thing you want when trying to heal from that "adventure" is to be uncomfortable every time you sit down on the couch or at the dinner table, etc.
