I would have given this item a 5-star rating except for one small thing. After double checking the correct fit listed, the item did not quite fit exactly. The new item has a AA battery compared to the old having a AAA battery. This creates a slightly larger circumference for the part that goes through the stainless panel. I had to put a couple size larger drill through the hole to bore it out enough for the new unit to fit through. It does sound like it has a stronger spark with the larger battery.

I was initially concerned that this unit might not replace my failed part because it was not the exact same dimensions (it is 2/3 of the width). However, this unit mounted into the existing location and connected with existing wiring. Works perfectly.

A third of the price of one from HD and it puts out lots of spark! Had to use some dielectric grease to keep it from sparking with other contacts on the rear of the unit. One from HD hardly sparked at all.

Took a chance since my grill wasn't listed but it is a direct replacement for a chargriller 5050. Except for the silver, it is the exact same part. Ordered another for a spare.Now I can grill again without using a lighter!
