This is a really smooth running quiet generator for less than half the cost of a comparable Honda. Once I broke it in it never failed once hardly ever operated in the higher RPM mode. I especially like the 5-volt USB outlet and the cigarette lighter Outlet. It comes with a battery charging cable that plugs into that and I discovered that the charging circuit works very well. It charged up my battery almost overnight. If I needed another one I would certainly get one just like it. I had to let it run all night one night due to my trailer battery dying. I connected the charging cable and even in a quiet environment I didn't get any complaints about noise. It's just a really nice generator at a great price. Highly recommended.

We have had our inverter generator for a couple of months now. Took it for camping a few times. Out of the box it is a nice looking, compact unit that can be carried like a suitcase. It seems like a well thought out design with all controls recessed for protection. Starting it couldn't be easier. The choke and throttle control is integrated into one big knob, right on the front. After first fuel fill it started on the second pull. Having the three status LED's on the front panel is also a nice feature. In addition to a 120v duplex receptacle, they also thoughtfully placed 12v DC outputs and even a USB power port on the front panel, which means we can charge 3 phones at a time! The fully-enclosed design provides the quietest noise signature of any generator I've used before, maybe even quieter than honda with 1/5 the cost. Camping is more enjoyable now. NOTE "“ These generators are "parallel ready", we might think of buying another one when we need more power.

Prompt Fedex shipping got the unit from CA to FL in 6 days. Packaging was good and the box held up crossing the country. The unit arrives with a 20fl oz bottle of oil, a funnel and a sparkplug wrench. Owners manual and remote start/stop key fob. Its got a nice telescoping handle that hides away and makes it very easy to move around. It weighs right around 100lb empty. I paid $799 and no other units come close to that price with these features and wattage with inverter technology. The engine is 224cc air cooled single made by DUCAR out of China. That is not a bad thing.
It came with a 7AH sealed battery that fits in its own compartment and simply plugs into a 2 pole ISO plug with enough wire that it was easy to do.
I added the oil with the supplied funnel and yes, it does spill out into the generator plastic housing and finds its way onto the floor. A better oil fill and drain is needed on most all generators and this one is no exception. This cost a star in the rating.
Next I added some gas, turned the unit on and pushed the one start button (its literally a one push, not push and hold). A full second elapsed before the starter turned over and the unit whirled to life. That in itself was very impressive. I let it run for a bit and plugged in two 1850 watt blow dryers. Turning them on one at a time, they worked perfect. tried the remote on/off from 40ft away and it worked perfect.
This generator is much quiter than the open frame units. Your neighbors will like that. The mfgr claims 62DB when I called them. I'm going to run it out of gas then i'll change the oil to 5w30 synthetic, Its my Florida Hurricane backup power for fridge and window AC plus computer and lighting.

So far so good. Arrived 3 days after I ordered it. Plugged in the batter leads and filled oil and fueled the generator and it started right up. Ran it for 5 hours and plugged in a few small appliances and it powered them up without missing a beat. The only complaint so far is when changing the oil you have to tilt the unit and it is hard to avoid spillage inside of the generator case, The real test will be if it can start my 15,000 BTU RV air conditioner. I'll let you know if there are any issues.
Hooked it up to my travel trailer and it ran the 15,000 BTU ac with no issues.

Bought one of these (Powermate 2000i) at Walmart in December 2017 for $488.00 plus tax plus warranty. Out the door for a tad over $550.00. Have owed many comparable models and this one is the best. Never bought Honda or Yamaha because of price. Upon purchase from Walmart, my thinking was the same. " OK, let's try this one and see how she goes." Fingers always crossed. Ran this little bugger 24/7 for almost 100 days minus time for oil changes, valve adjustment, etc...before the Pulsar arrived. (Powermate still runs perfectly @ more than 1500hrs) So happy with Powermate, I decided to buy the Pulsar w/o warranty at cheaper price thru Amazon ($430.00) w/ parallel cord ($100). Don't really need the extra amperage but who knows. So tickled with the performance, I decided what the heck. For the price of a Honda, you can get 2 of these puppies, the parallel cord and some change back. The biggest problem I have with all of these units is the pull cord can easily chafe and snap. Not a lot of fun when it breaks. But not a deal breaker either. This is why I refuel it while its running to alleviate additional pull starts. To refuel, I use an outboard motor hose with dual in line filters, and non ethanot 90 octane fuel. Never spill a drop but Not Manufacturer Recommended !!! Please be careful while fueling anything!! Using 15 gallons/week in eco mode. I live on a boat and my normal electrical use is 5-7 amps/ hr unless I'm cooking. These units are well built, really easy to work on and really easy on the ears. Have not experienced one electrical part failure. As long as these are available, I will never buy another. I always use Mobile 1 synthetic oil and change every 4 days. (100 hrs) Oil change is super easy. I use a West Marine hand pump oil extractor. Add 12 ounces @ 15 degree tilt. Takes 5 minutes. The only difference between this unit and the Powermate besides color is that Powermate has nice covers for the 110 v outlets and USB port. Pulsar unit does not. Not sure if this is worth the extra $50 bucks or not. Probably not. Also, because these are run 24/7 in the harsh marine environment, they are secured in weather proof sound box with air intake cowlings to protect against rain and salt water spray. You won't be disappointed. Just remember, as with any engine, "Use it or Lose it" .
