Bought a couple of these for our potty training son who often pees at night. Most matress pads are not truly waterproof so we wanted this extra protection. They have been washed probably 2 dozen times already and still in good shape and no prevent his pee from leaking thru to the mattress pad. They are like the medical grade kind so expect the thickness under the sheet. Ours also shifts a bit but our son is somewhat of a wild sleeper so I'm sure that has alot to do with it, we just adjust and smooth it out every few days.

Don't hesitate to buy these! I am writing this review after a long night with a newborn who leaked thru their diaper and these mats have saved the day! Time and time again. I've washed and dried them in the washer and dryer and they have showed no signs of wear or tear. Granted I haven't had these too terribly long, but so far so good. I read through several reviews and decided on these. No regrets! They are well worth whatever price I paid. Buy these mats - you won't regret it! We used this for a kid who was just having occasional bed-wetting accidents. Covers a wide area on a twin size bed. It worked! The kid doesn't need it anymore, but it was a great alternative to pull-ups. Also useful to put in pet beds for older pets who may have accidents, under your Christmas tree to catch water spills, and in your car underneath a baby seat, or on your car seat to transport a casserole. This is VERY useful for all kinds of things!

This is one of six bed pads that I purchased for my elderly mother. This was my 4th favorite item (first was the Pharmedoc brand, followed closely by Epic Bedding brand). It's thinner than my first three picks, but it still seems as if it would have good absorption and other's reviews were good. I plan to use it on top of the fitted sheet so that the sheets do not need to be changed every time she has an accident. It has not been used yet, so I cannot comment on actual use.
