I've gotten used to this screen and should work fine. But it has taken some getting used to. I will definitely need to replace the adhesions. The sticky tapes provided keep falling off. Also, the width of the screen is wider than not only my notebook screen but the outer diameter. So a vertical mounting would not have worked without cutting the screen down in size. I think it works well as a privacy screen. But even looking directly into the screen, it makes the letters in type a little fuzzy.

Okay but not great. If your sitting on a plane the person next to you will be able to see half if not most of your screen.
They need to be more that 45 degrees off axis to block it. Someone standing to the side of you 45 degrees or less off axis can see your screen. I prefer the glossy side out, seems to add clarity and help with privacy somewhat.
I brought it to work, sat it on my desk and had noticed that my screen is completely black to passers-by and that is what I was originally looking for. I moved the thumb cutout to the bottom right as it was annoying to see at the top of my screen.

I was worried by some comments saying it didn't really work but it works exactly like I was hoping it would and better than the comments on here suggest. Not some what standards others have. If someone is right next to you on the side (like on a plane), maybe they can see it a little if your brightness is turned up. But at that point, they are just a nosy person and there is nothing you can do about it. But space yourself out like normal (say 3 feet to the side) and they won't see a thing. They will see it if they are standing over your shoulder but that is expected. Overall, product works as expected. If you turn your brightness all the way down, even you will have a hard time seeing the screen from straight ahead. That's a pretty good privacy screen IMO.

I had recently bought this product for my 14 inch Dell laptop.
I followed the instructions as written (chose option B for installation) but as soon as I attached the filter to the screen I got bubbles on the filter (similarly when you don't place a screen protector well on your cellphone).
I contacted support and they asked some clarifying questions on how I applied the filter.
They immediately offered to send me a replacement. I told them that I would be at my current hotel for only a few more days and asked that they ship the replacement so that it would arrive at my hotel before I left. The complied and indeed I received the replacement on time. Finally, I requested additional instructions fearing the same behavior would reappear. So they first tested it on their laptop and let me know that it works for them. Then they gave me precise instructions which I followed to the letter. On the replacement it worked as advertised.
I am giving this a five stars for an extraordinary customer service experience. I had never had such a good support before.
The filter itself is great and does the job very well.
Highly recommend!

UPDATE (Feb 2nd, 2018):
I would like to update that now that I have used it for a few weeks I can say that when you touch the filter it may get attached to the screen creating these sort of bubbles. The workaround is to take the filter off and reattach it. It's isn't that convenient and can become a real nuisance. Also you may want to refrain from touching the filter while attached to the laptop's screen. Having said that however, the filter itself is of very good quality and does prevent others from seeing your screen.
I lowered the overall score to 4 stars.

In terms of privacy, the screen works great but it depends what you are buying it for. If you are buying it for a plane ride, or your train commute to work, the person sitting next to you will be able to see most of your screen, but if you are buying it for the office, or just general privacy it is great.

I would give this product 5 stars but I do have 2 issues with it.
1) Not a big issue for me but may be for others, the glue tabs given can be seen through the screen in the corners.
2) The tabs do not work for a laptop with no indented screen, e.x. the tabs do not work on my T450s.
