GREAT FOR ALL SORTS OF THINGS

It is exactly what I wanted. The only thing I would probably want different, that it not be so smooth and slick. Haven't found out yet, but I'm afraid if it's wet out side or a little muddy, I'll have trouble holding on to the tube. Otherwise, I like it a lot and ha e already filled the two I purchased.

seems a little cheap, not entirely waterproof when i tested it under water for a half hour. only waterproof under quick immersions. small size.both ends opens up, which just makes two places water can enter it.

After having this for about 6 months it has worked quite well actually, it has taken quite a few camping trips with me and it still looks relatively new. I have been happy with it. I am changing my original opinion of it.

These are light weight, beautifully- and precision-machined aluminum cases. The exterior is smooth with no gripping surface or ridges. However, the top part with the carabiner/lanyard slot provides a perfect grip for removing the top. The interior circumference is large enough to slide a C cell battery into it and still have a little room around the sides for it to rattle around. The case is NOT tall enough to hold two C cell batteries end-to-end, however, because the interior circumference of the screw-off top is too small to fit around the battery. Ten Titan Stormproof Matches wrapped in Glad wrap and one striker, also wrapped in Glad wrap, fit very snuggly in this. Once the ends are screwed back on there is no rattling of the matches inside. I was able to get 12 Titan matches in one case and 11 in another case by alternating the top and bottom ends of the matches without wrapping them in Glad wrap. That was too tight to include a striker, however, and I prefer to have the matches and striker separated by the Glad wrap. I recommend that when you first get one of these you unscrew both ends and clean the threads, O-rings, and interior and then apply your own light coating of silicone greasee. They already were very clean and lightly oiled, but I prefer to use a light coating of Trident Pure Silicone Grease on the O-rings and threads. I bought the separate box of 25 UCO Titan Stormproof matches, and except for UCO's own kit with plastic case, these were the only EDC cases I could find that were tall enough to fit the Titan matches. These would make a perfect case for storing and carrying homemade cotton ball/vaseline/wax fire starters. The O-rings do intrude slightly into the interior of the case, and that limits how tightly you can pack the matches. The only suggestion I have is that the company should make one with two or even three times the circumference of this one. That would significantly expand its potential uses.

This item just about fit the bill for me. It's sturdy, has a loop for a carabiner or lanyard, is waterproof, and small -- but large enough for matches or pills or whatever tiny items I need to keep dry. Only downside: I couldn't get the bottom to screw off (and I'm not willing to mar the finish with pliers or other tool).
