Unsatisfactory product. First, I am writing this review somewhat later since I have been busy with life. However, I will tell you this product is very substandard. I own a D light which continues to operate at a sufficient light output day in and day out since March 2013, so I know what a good product is. I purchased 2 of these Tansoren lights, and both of them are defective products. One of them stopped good light output after just 2 days and shortly thereafter looked like it totally shorted out. This is after solar charging only. The other light also became defective after 4 days, but had a minimum level of light. I tried to use it several days ago, and now neither of them worked. These lights are at risk for consumer protection laws because (at least the ones I received) do not do what they say they will.

If you have any questions feel free to post. I will follow up at some point. However, now I am going to try to ask Amazon or the dealer for a refund. Unfortunately, this isn't a good product for somebody trying to live off grid. Also, I'm not a promotional person whatsoever- Just a regular dude. Consider yourself warned. Go for the D-Light lantern if you want longevity, and adequate night light based only on solar. Obviously, however, even a D Light won't provide light like something powered with fuel, a traditional battery, or a standard electric power source.

Also, I never got a chance to test the usb port. I'm not sure if that is for charging a phone or if they expect your phone to charge the light?? The product came with no formidable instructions- so your guess would be as good as mine. Please note, I never tried to charge this product from a non-solar power source since I use these types of products when I am off grid. Good luck!

Incredible little lantern. I already bought two of these when Hurricane Irma hit. They happily gave me enough light in the evening. Not bright , bright light but enough I could get things done. If you put them in front of a mirror, it will light up a room even more. Right after the hurricane I came on line and ordered 5 more, 2 more for me, 2 for my daughter, and one for my dad in an assisted living. I ended up almost 9 days without power, these lights never failed me. I put these year round in a sunny window and solar charge them for unexpected emergencies. I did not try the phone charger since I had another back up just for that, but I do want to try it for the future.

This is the perfect light to bring anywhere, I've used it repeatedly on camping trips, in my workplace(HVAC), even around the house. With 360°of light, simply set this in the middle of any dark room and you can see with ease.
I especially enjoy the fact that you can put dead batteries in this light and have the solar panel charge them. I don't see one thing about just like that I can complain about it even comes with an aux cord so you can charge your phone. Perfection 👌

I've had this lantern for about 2 months. The design isn't bad--the top pulls up easily, and the brightness level is good for a variety of uses--but the durability / quality is extremely poor, with a potential safety hazard during recharging. After just 2 months of regular indoor use, the lantern broke. While the price was very reasonable, I would still expect better longevity from this product. Some detail about how the lantern broke: during regular recharging with the supplied power cord, something inside apparently overheated or burned, and the lantern ceased to function. Overall poor quality--given the way the lantern broke, I would not repurchase.

Fantastic! Solar charged, supplies lots of light for a small lantern, other campers were impressed. Can also be hung from tent as it has a hook. Has a plug so you can charge before your trip and leave in the sun during the day to recharge while camping. My battery operated lights went dead on a three day trip on the second night, while this lantern remained strong even without recharge. Bought three more after the trip.
