Like day and night from even the heaviest hoe I could find at a big box home improvement, local hardware, or even a construction tool provider. This hoe makes removing sod a breeze, weeds stand no chance.

If you are like me you may be thinking that is a lot of money for a hoe. Trust me, worth every penny!
Beast of a tool. Bye bye weeds.

This think is slightly head end heavy but that's what makes it a beast. You can rip weeds off the surface, dig them out if you want with ease. After a few days use, I don't see what some others say about the edge getting nicked. Had some weeds that I couldn't pull out with my whole body weight pulling, but this ripped them out with ease. Like if an axe and hoe had a child.
Must have tool for large projects (Or bad backs)

My husband bought this tool for me (along with the Fiskars Extendable D-handle Stand-up Weeder https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005D6NX8M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_P9aJd8Mwzlb9Y) after I complained that weeding our overgrown 8000 square foot yard was like trying to remove a large area of body hair with tweezers. 😊 I was able to clear a 25' x 10' area of weeds and old wood chips in about 2 hours. The most time consuming part of the chore was bagging up the trash. If you have a large area to clear, or a bad back, this tool is a must. Get the Friskars stand up weeder if you have stubborn weeds. Minus 1 star for how easily the edge dings.

If you're looking for a heavy-duty hoe to clear or cultivate difficult soil, this is the one. It's fairly heavy, but that's an asset if you let the tool do the work instead of trying to muscle it. The blade is substantial and sharp and the attachment to the handle is very solid and would be difficult to break. I used it to work over a rocky clay soil that had been under concrete for years. With an coventional hoe it was slow going, but this puppy cuts right through: I found it easy to dig down 18" into clay and gravel.
