Wow!!! What a difference this cable modem/router has made. This review is of the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 (24x8) DOCSIS 3.0 WiFi Cable Modem Router For XFINITY Internet & Voice (C7100V) Ideal for Xfinity Internet and Voice services. This NETGEAR unit replaces a Technicolor tc8305c cable modem/router w/Voice rented from Xfinity. Old router download speeds often measured below 10 mbps, upload speeds around 7 mbps. At the time of the change, the Technicolor was measuring 37 mbps download, 11 mbps upload on the 2.4 GHz band (only band supported). Immediately after the change, the speeds with the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 /with Voice Router/Modem measured 63 mbps download and 11 mbps upload (2.4 GHz band) and 232 mbps download and 11 mbps upload (5 GHz band). Not a typo, that's 232 mbps. The router/modem is on the second floor at one end of the house and the speeds were measured on a MacBook Pro on the first floor at the opposite end of the house, a distance of approximately 50 feet. The signal was strong on both the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz bands.

works for what I needed it for..... the router that came with the internet service I have was the pits.This is MUCH BETTER...tho I do still have streaming issues, BUT it's not with this product, it's the lousy Internet service I have where I live..

After using about 13-14 months, It started giving issue like speed of wifi goes down to 2 mbps, which is really not good, It gets resolved by restarting or rebooting router. It works fine after but not sure how long it will work better, sometimes I need to reboot twice a day or once in a few days are for sure.

I called customer care of netgear, but they insisting to buy support plan to get resolve the issue. which is about $139/ year. which is quite expensive. If it is going to be like that then it is no use of buying good router for $200+tax and will run for 15 months only. I was very happy with that but started giving trouble right after warranty got over. I still recommend but with added warranty need to be bought :( which makes it more expensive.

It plugged into ISP Spectrum/Charter/Oceanic. Anyhow the internet works.
Spectrum sucks though because they won't install at my location in Hawaii. HawaiianTel sucks just as much.
ALL internet companies suck very bad on Big Island.

This is a terrific router. It replaces the one supplied by Spectrum, and the difference has been huge. Great signal in the farthest part of our house, and it has not yet needed rebooting, unlike the Spectrum router. Speed tests confirm it is performing way beyond the performance specs of the Spectrum router.
