The item is listed as "Mail Boss" it is NOT. It is the "Mail Manager" mailbox. It DOES NOT have 12-& 14-Gauge electrogalvanized welded steel as listed. It has 14-gauge and 16-gauge galvanized welded steel. The size and weight in the description IS correct HOWEVER that is not the size and weight of a Mail Boss mailbox. The Mail Manager is $60 cheaper than the Mail Boss. This price is NOT for the Mail Boss mailbox! On the Inside of the mailbox slot the mailbox clearly states "Mail Manager". Do NOT be deceived, I was.

The mailbox and post were received in 3 days. Love the Mailbox and post. Easy to install for us. The reason for a 3 was that we paid for install of the product not knowing how difficult this would be and very little time to do this. Very disappointed that installation was shown to be a part of this and then calling on the first install date and found that there are only 2 install personal available for our zipcode. By Tuesday we were notified our money was being refunded and installation would be completed.We had a rent a Hammer Drill and purchase cement anchors. This was not too bad for us to do. Just do not want to be told that someone should install when installation was really never available.

Nice construction. Easy to install with easy to follow directions. Came with three keys so I can carry one in my car, one on my person, and give one to the neighbor to check the mail when I'm out of town. I feel much more secure about my mail now. We have had mail stolen out of the mail boxes in our neighborhood in the past.

I had high hopes for this mailbox and it seemed to work quite well when other conventional mailboxes in the row down on the street were robbed several times since I'd installed it in June 2016. However, a few nights ago it fell victim to someone with a pry bar. The "wings" the design includes apparently meant for appearance and weather protection ended making a perfect fulcrum for prying the door open. Luckily, all we've been receiving is junk mail. Will probably go with a P.O. Box now.

Very Sturdy mailbox.
As with most people here, there has been a rash of mail thefts in our area so I wanted to get a good locking mailbox. After reading reviews I opted to purchase this item and was not disappointed when it arrived. It was much heavier and larger than I'd thought it'd be, very well constructed from thick steel with a nice coating. There was no comparison with our old 'regular' thin-walled metal box, that weighed nothing, this is pretty heavy, at over 20lbs! Make sure your post is in good condition.
The front mail receive flap is very strong and has a full hinge along its lower edge, I tried to fish my hand in the slot and could not get anywhere in the main box. The lower compartment has a reinforced metal welded front panel and anti-pry feature around the lock - to me this looks pretty hard to open up even with a crow bar.
The box mounts with lag bolts and from the inside so cannot be removed without opening the lower box part (the received mail area). It was nice that the kit came with the lag bolts AND the drill bit needed, that was really nice.
I will addend my review if we get a break in or it fails but looking at the box the thieves would likely move on to an easier box I think.
It was definitely heavier and larger than I thought it'd be so you may want to check on the size and weight in the description to make sure it works for you, but for me that worked out well.
As for a negative, that would be that some water was able to get in, it rained A LOT this weekend and was pretty windy and I did note some minimal water getting in at the bottom of the lower compartment towards the back not sure where it got in from and if that is to be expected with heavy rain, however it does have drainage holes and a liner that holds the mail up from the base so did not effect the mail.

Update: 2/2017
Although no break in's yet I have noted water getting in with heavy rain as noted in the initial review - may last mail delivery did get wet somewhat. My last mailbox which was about $20 did no ever let water in so I will take off a star for that. I still like the box for it's primary need (mail theft) but a little bummed it lets water in. Will likely need to buy a higher riser in the floor box, the liner that comes with it needs to be higher.

Update: does seem to let mail get wet when raining. I emailed mail boss support to see it there's something I could do or where to seal but never received a reply. 3 stars overall.
