The razor is has some weight to it. Shave's extremely well and no alignment issues. The finish on the entire razor is excellent. This is really great value. The handle just itself is worth the price of the entire razor itself. Plus you get the astra's blades included.

had this a few weeks, was shaving and while rinsing razor in bathroom sink I dropped from height of approximately 3-5 inches and upon impact the head stim broke from the handle, now I cant re thread the head because its actually broke/sheared off. this felt very heavy duty but from such a

Edit: So after getting the hang of DE shaving and trying some new blades I have to revise my review. I have discovered that the head is not manufactured correctly and the blades sit off center making one side aggressive and the other side mild. It does not give a consistent shave and I have gotten a few nicks and cuts due to this. Changing 5 stars to 3 stars due to this. I still really like the handle and weight. The head is just poorly manufactured. I may try to return it.

I ordered this safety razor almost a year ago. I really liked the feel, weight and balance in the hand and it did give me a very nice close shave with my favorite blades (Feathers). I honestly liked this razor until the day it broke. The threads on the head snapped off in the handle and no I was not over torquing the head and I never dropped this razor. I have not thrown this away as I still like the handle and want to get a head for it but I am completely dissatisfied with the durability. I am no novice to wet shaving and have several vintage razors that have not broken even when dropped. I think it's a matter of the material used in the head of the razor or some flaw or void at the threads that caused the break which is a shame because I really liked this thing.

Very pleasant surprise. I first ordered this razor as a gift. I liked it so much, I ordered one for myself. I shaved with it, and I couldn't be more pleased. It is a bit more "aggressive" than I was used to, so I used a Derby Blade. The result was a good, close shave with only two passes. The weight of the handle is sufficient to get a good shave. No need to press on your sensitive skin, the razor does all the work.
If I could give this razor six starts, I wouldn't hesitate to do so.
