I've been using this daily for about 3 weeks now when I take the dog out at night to do her business so it's one for anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. I wear it over a ball cap and the light so far has been very good. I have an old Princeton Tec head light (like 17 or 18 years old) with I think a kryton bulb. This little Vitchelo is at least 2 or 3 times brighter and lights about 3 times the area of the other. The Princeton does have great tilt though, allowing to about any position, not just 4 like the Vitchelo.

About the only 2 things that are a bit annoying is that the head band is on the small side for me. Admittedly my hat size is 7 3/4 to 7 7/78. The band still fits at full open but is quite snug and I could use another 1/4 to 1/2 of adjustment. I wouldn't want to wear it for more than 30 minutes or so continually, or likely it would give me a headache. The other thing is that on several occasions when putting it on and adjusting the tilt down the battery compartment has popped open. Might just need to increase the interference of their snap or something.

Other than those 2 things it's great for the money. on high it's quite bright, though I use it on the lowest setting about 95% of the time and it is plenty for what I'm doing. The red light works ok for up close right in front of you, as it only lights out to say 6-8 feet. So far the batteries that came in it are lasting though I did note the last night or 2 that when I first turn it on the high setting it looks like it might be loosing some intensity. Once they die I'm going to replace them with some Eneloop rechargeable batteries.

I've only used one of these so far, so I'm only reviewing a single unit.
But I'd say that this is a great headlamp overall. And likely unbeatable at this price.

The white light is incredibly bright. And if you plan to use the red light (which preserves your night vision), then this light is exceptional, because it has separate buttons for the red and white lights which eliminates the problem of turning a knob the wrong way and accidentally going to white light, and killing your night vision.

This should be great for night fishing. The red light is plenty bright enough for tying knots and unhooking fish without killing your night vision or spooking the fish. And the white light is more than bright enough to light your way through backwoods swamps and seaside boulder fields.

You can light up a camp site or keep it mellow with the soft red. Well worth every penny spent. Just used it on my camp trip and was amazed at how well it worked. Bright light setting is just that, bright and covers a very long distance. Basically I used the red light setting most of the time as it was excellent for evening ,soft lighting but bright enough to see what I needed around camp. Also seemed to save battery life using it every night on red setting.. Acts also as a hand held flashlight. First one I ever purchased, and thankfully so far the best choice for me.Very sturdy, well built unit. Fits nicely on head. Using batteries enclosed with item still going strong and used for camping every night for 2 weeks, but I'm sure this depends on how much you use the headlamp each night and what setting you use. It worked for my needs just fine. I find I even use it around the property at night hands free, instead of carrying a flashlight. Great item. I'm happy with the purchase and product. I have a feeling it will last a very long time. Happy customer! As mentioned in another review you might find the light switches on top a bit hard to switch on , but once you get the hang of it, becomes easier. Just shows how sturdy this product is!

I'm in love with this product. I purchased it for the red light so that I could adjust my astronomy gear without ruining my night vision. But immediately, this lamp has established its additional usefulness on a daily basis.

I tried using this lamp when walking my dog at night, and discovered that it can't be beat. The white light, when activated at full brightness, is truly a torch - it can greatly illuminate areas even a hundred feet away. In fact, it's brighter than most of my "super-bright" flashlights. Pretty impressive, for something that runs on a few small batteries.

Of course, the white light supports multiple brightness levels, which is great, because I rarely use it at full brightness. Often, I just toggle it to medium or low brightness so I can see what my dog is doing in the dark.

The red light is absolutely perfect for situations in which you don't want to blind yourself in the dark. I use it whenever I need to examine something quickly in the dark before shutting it off. The red light also has a blinking mode, which I use far more often than I thought I would. Because the red light does not ruin night vision, it's perfect for alerting drivers to your presence without blinding them. Also, the red blinking light causes nearby reflective signs, such as stop signs and street signs, to blink brightly, further alerting drivers to slow down even if they can't see you around a corner.

The headband is comfortable, fully adjustable, and works great. Extra stars are awarded for the dual buttons, which allow me to turn the light off with a single press once I've chosen a light mode.

Not only was 1998 a great year but $19.98, the total cost of this Headlamp, is awesome. Words cannot describe how amazed I am w/ this product from Vitchelo. I've always been the type who likes the outdoors at various hours, work w/ my hands and often in the absence of light, ride mountain bikes, at night, w/ just one bike light, multiple jobs I've had where I needed to see objects I was working w/ in dark tight places and never once did I think about using a headlamp. I've always known about them I just never had the opportunity to use one. The stars aligned and buying a headlamp to walk my dog at night while trying to hold a second dogs on a separate leash and attempting to pick up doo doo was a unnessicary challenge until...the light went off in my head. I thought why not put a light on my head to make all the easier. Brought the dogs in and ordered one 15 minutes later and now, two days since, the doorbell rings. My Vitchelo V800 Blue Headlamp arrived. Walking the dogs minutes after I inserted the batteries, which came w/ the Vichelo V800, I now get to use this beast of a tool at my job tomorrow morning. I'm a bus driver and the first thing I do, in cold weather, is start up to 20 buses to make sure the turn over in the cold temps but also carry up to 20 sets of keys. Opening doors, in the dark, and keeping track of the other keys I have while starting the bus I'm in is a breeze. I will no longer have to fumble w/ a customs key rack holding 20 keys, pry open frozen bus doors, find the right key and turning on the appropriate lights and bus functions while trying to balance a flashlight, that wants to roll away, will no longer be an issue.

I should've bought one many moons ago. I can say this, soon more of my friends will be purchasing Headlamps from Vitchelo, once the see how easy doing my job is w/ freed up hands. 1998 was a great year and $19.98 is an excellent price for the gem of a tool I know you'll love having/using. PS: An added feature this light has is a angle adjuster. Puts the light right where you need it and no where else. 3 different light brightness modes save battery life as well as being equipted w/ a red emergency light and/or flasher. What more do you need. But one today for a friend or stick one or ten in a stocking. Tis the season. Ho ho ho.
