Does the job but not perfect.

I'll start with the reasons why I purchased this in order to give other people ideas on how they may get use out of any item like this.
1) My elderly mother lives with me and is in a wheelchair. In case of an emergency this has allowed people of my choosing to be able to access my house through the garage. I usually keep a hotel security lock on the front door so using a key to get in isn't always possible. Plus, the less she has to get up to unlock the door/open the garage the better because she is a fall risk.
2) My phone is on me all of the time, I am never without it. Anytime I visit a neighbor, go to the community pool or park or just go for a walk I have to drag my keys or my garage door opener with me. This eliminates the need for that.
3) Garage door openers in cars are not the safest. It is very easy for someone to break your car window and hit your garage door opener.
4) There has been a few times where I pulled up to my house and my garage door opener didn't work and the lock was on the front door which goes back to my mother having to unlock the door. If she's with me when this happens, I'd be in trouble. This gives me a back up in case the first fails.
The cons: It takes a lot longer to open your phone, wait for this thing to connect and then hit the open or close button. I would say at least 20 seconds. 20 seconds doesn't seem like a long time but when you're sitting in your driveway after working all day and you just want to get in your house, 20 seconds feels like an eternity and that's if it connects on the first try. There should be a way to just tap your phone to open the door as I've seen others with that feature.
All in all I still think it's a decent gadget to have at least for my situation.

Save the box to support the unit, and add spade connectors.

First one worked OK for about four times, then stopped and I could not open the doors without disconnecting it. Amazon was great at sending another, and I have some suggestions I am going to try when I install it. The wires are small and flimsy, difficult to work with, they need spade connectors to allow for easier connection to terminals. I plan to solder a larger wire with spade clips, which will give me some room to move the unit when changing batteries. I also plan to place the unit in the box, which has a hanging cardboard tab to hold the unit. I think that will solve my problems. 2nd one didn't work either. I have 3 Genie rolling code openers, and 3 fixed code openers. I tried it on all of them, would open door once, then not work again. I give up, wasted my money.
Good until it went rogue!

Works as advertised. The apple App has an animation of the door opening and closing were the Android App does not. To be clear, it's an animation and is not intended to indicate if the door is open or not. Buyer beware..I had this for about a week and was awoken to the door opening at 2:00 am! That's a bit un-nerving from a sound sleep! it happened twice more in 24 hours. Most likely something wireless such as aircraft may have been operating a radio on an adjacent frequency causing the unit to operate. Oh well - soon to be available on Ebay!
Worked, but something happened.

The device was easy to install and pair with the phones, it worked the first day, however something happened on day 2 as my garage door would would not open by the switch on the wall, the wires are very tiny and may have caused a short. Removed the device and the wall switch (wired) worked again. Will have to try installing this again and make sure the wires are not going to short. Just haven't had time to try it again.
Robust product. So-so UI

Important!
This device only works with its app, it does not tie into a smart hub/connected house system. Also it is Bluetooth and does not work over the Internet.
Device:
I have had this installed in my garage for a few weeks now, never fails to connect and open the garage door. The pairing process is a little difficult, I have not been able to transfer keys between devices as of yet, meaning that you have to take your phone to within 6 inches of the device every time you want to pair a new phone to it. Good safety feature, but a bit of a pain if you have a lot of people living in the house...
App:
The app is very simplistic and not very intuitive, in order to open the garage door you must launch the app, wait for it to pair (takes only about 6 seconds, make sure your Bluetooth is on) tap the garage door icon on the app and it will open the garage door. It is important to note that while the app's virtual garage door image will open, it is not always in sync with the garage door. Many times I will tap and it will register on my phone but the signal won't go through (not enough to the point that it really affects the functionality, but enough to get the virtual door and the garage door to be out of sync)
Overall a good product, way better than getting multiple garage door openers at 30-50 a pop.
