These are quite good. I bought it out of curiosity and didn't have much in terms of expectation. I figured fake canned meat would be pretty bad, but I was wrong.

I didn't do anything fancy with it. I just put the contents into a bowl and threw it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. I think these would taste great in a recipe or heated in the oven.

The texture is nice and consistent. It reminds me more of a fake turkey than chicken. It seems pretty absorbent so it would take very well to anything you decided to cook it in. The broth isn't too complex, it also wasn't that salty as another review claimed. I have to admit I probably have more salt in my diet than most so take that into consideration.

Overall they are a bit expensive but also very filling. I will buy these again.

LOWER YOUR PRICES!! This product is great if you are trying to cut meat out of your diet. However, the expense is enough to make you go back to eating meat. I wish the price could be more reasonable, it would help more people that are having problems with arterial circulation, or arteriolsclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and have to change their diets do to fat and cholesterol...or die.

I got this thinking it'd be great to be able to enjoy a lower fat, healthier substitute for 'ground beef'. When I opened the can, I wanted to puke because it does, indeed, look like dog food. I tried microwaving it, and forced myself to take a bite and was pleasantly surprised to find it was a very mild flavor (think rice or almost flavorless peas) with just a hint of onion or garlic. I then heated up a skillet with some oil in it, added the vege-burger, some garlic powder, black pepper, cumin, oregano and some mixed cheeses, and fried it all together until the 'meat' was almost burnt, as that's how I like my ground beef and ground turkey. Added a little salt, slapped the mixture on a bun (It holds shape beautifully!) and was pleasantly surprised with how flavorful and filling it is, now.

Its own flavor isn't strong, but this means you can make it whatever flavor you like very easily. This would be great for veggie-taco night. The texture is a little softer than meat, but very close, and with the right spices it tastes amazing. I'd definitely buy it again.

I bought a can of Prime Steaks out of curiosity as an adjunct with a normal merchandise order from Amazon.
I do not eat meat at all but am not a hard core nothing but carrots and celery sauteed in spring water vegan and mainly just wanted to see what they tasted like and was very pleasantly surprised to find that they were quite good.
I concocted an "Open Faced Beef Sandwich" meal with instant mashed potatoes made with almond milk, brown gravy and sliced tomatoes. YUM-YUM
I won't be eating much of Loma Linda products at all because the price for the product line is simply too far above their competition, but their taste quality at least for this product also beats a lot of their competition.

I'm not vegan don't pretend to be but my Grandmother was and she would have Loma Linda products in her pantry and got my sister and myself hooked on these and we still get to this day. **** Not any issue with product but really wish Amazon would allow more single purchases of this product line as well as others they did prior when they offered the pantry service since then the Loma Linda products are severely limited to what you can buy single and not in multi packages, my only complaint and again nothing against the product itself since It's across board decision on other brands as well and sadly this has severely impacted the amount I used to spend on grocery items through Amazon.
