At first I wasn't Thrilled with it; but I WAS happy with it. Interestingly, though, as I used it, I enjoyed it more and more because some of the heavy shininess wore and it then looked more and more natural. NOW I am Thrilled with it! ;-D Am glad I waited to give my opinion on this. I would now definitely get another.

Attractive, well finished and conveniently sized. No downsides to report yet, but I do expect the finish on the top and inside to discolor over time as other wooden ashtrays I own have done. Still, it's nicely made, priced right, and a great size. Country of origin is China which is probably why the product description says things like "It is made of natural tree, which makes you enjoy the pleasure of returning to nature." Don't know how effective it will be in making me feel like I'm returning to nature, but as an ashtray, it works just fine.

Opened the box and it had a big crack and gap down the center. Very disappointed since it is unusable and won't even hold the ash. As you can see in the picture the crack runs across the entire ash try.
