Better Than I Thought
Amazon Customer•September 22, 2017
This pick up is very nice. I have it on a 12 string acoustic and sounds great. Installed in seconds.
Pros & Cons, a couple annoying design flaws.

I'll try to justify my low star rating. I think for the price of $165, we should expect a fairly flawless design and execution. But there is a significant problem that could have easily have been avoided with a proper R & D stage.
Pros:
1. Decent sound comparable to the Fishman Neo-D02.
2. Adjustable pole pieces let you fine tune string balance, which is essential!
3. 1/8" jack on unit makes some installation tasks easier.
4. Phase reverse switch is also a very useful feature.
Cons:
1. Pole-to-string spacing too wide for my guitars-- this required a difficult modification and installation.
2. Output level is pretty weak and noise-prone- compared to my other passive pickups
2. Mounting foam pads are flimsy. Cork or a slightly harder rubber might have been better.
3. I think they could have produced this with a balanced output, given that it is a humbucker.
Though I was able to rotate the pickup in the sound hole for better pole alignment, the side clamps won't quite reach the soundhole edges in that position. I ended up having to glue on an extension for the top, and make an additional extension piece for the underside. Then I had difficulty getting the pick-up into position. But I finally got it installed. For $165, I shouldn't have to be bending over backwards to modify it to get it to fit.
I don't think the design is right, I don't think the quality is there to justify the $165 price. It might be the best there is in this range, and adjustable pole pieces are a must, so I'll live with it, but it isn't very impressive.

Clean and authentic sound

Great product when used correctly. I use it for my acoustic leads most of the time. Blending with the mic'd signal brings a lot of character from the guitar
I have several pickups for my fine acoustic guitars and some are very expensive

I have several pickups for my fine acoustic guitars and some are very expensive. this one thus far, has the best sound, and is easier to install especially if you just want to attach the cable through the sound hole. the connection is positioned in the pickup so that you can attach and detach the cable without ever having to even loosen the strings. the Pick up will go in simply without loosening the strings or taking one of the screws out-has very nice cork pads for the clamps and you can simply detach the cable so you wont have to leave it in the guitar when transporting it or even in the case.. the sound is stellar and has a slightly brighter, harp like nuance but very much captures the warmth of acoustic. I called customer service to get two additional little clamp screws in case I lose one -0 and they were friendly which is rare! they sent them right out. the pickup is a handsome black Matte finish and looks classy.. the cable for the sound hole is 12 ft. where most ate only 10 ft. which makes a big difference. the cable is of good quality.. it also comes with a strap jack assembly for permanent installation as well as a little Allen wrench for the pole adjustments. this is a class act pickup for someone who wants one worthy of high end Martins and is a traditional person..
