Okay folks here we go. I confess that I had my doubts about these gloves. Went camping this week and tried these gloves out. They really do work as advertised! I was able to pickup burning logs right out of the fire, flames and/or glowing embers had no effect. I literally held hot burning logs in my hand for extended periods with no heat transfer to my hands. (I don't recommend doing this, but I was camping and wanted to really test these gloves). To be fair though, I did hold a hot skillet for a couple minutes while cooking and did start getting warm. I really like this product and recommend them!
cool gloves

I am glad I went for these ones, instead of trying to save some money and go for some cheaper ones - They work really well! Just moved into a new house with a new wood stove and I always get a little nervous throwing the logs in when the fire is blazing away - I feel perfectly safe when I use the gloves and anything that sparks off onto the gloves, I don't feel a thing...plus I like the blue color :>)
Yes you can hold a flaming log with these gloves on.

I LOVE Fire. Love cooking with fire. So I BBQ a lot. When you spend so much time around fire its just a matter of time before fire wins. So I am always looking for protective gloves etc. to help me ensure that the only thing cooking is the meat on the grill and not me.
I mean come on, they have a picture of a guy holding a flaming piece of wood. I had to have it and of course test it out to see if it is true. As you can see from my video, I was indeed able to hold a flaming piece or wood without burning myself. I would however advice you against it. I had my infrared thermometer that had the temperature of the coals at around 915 degrees.
So if you like playing with fire and sticking your hand into hot places you probably should not be sticking into, you NEED these gloves.
I try to provide as much detail as I can for the reviews I publish. [...]

Do you want to pick up burning logs? How about hot coals? Would you like to bake things in the oven? Or would you rather pick the lid up off a Dutch oven? Do you want to hold a lighter to your hand just for fun? How about shoot bottle rockets straight out of your hand? Well if you answered yes to any of these, these gloves are the gloves for you. They will get warm or even hot with long exposure, but where would the fun be if that didn't happen?
Great for welding

Bought these for my husband who welds, creating projects that I ask for. He has regular welding gloves but these are much more flexible.
