Perfect Axe For All Needs

I have been wanting one of these axes for some time now, and the waiting did not disappoint. Solid construction, arrived sharpened. The only reason for a four star instead of five, is because the scabbard for the axe is cheaply made and constructed. For the price of this axe, I expect something more durable and functional.

Such a great quality hatchet, and the craftsmanship is easily seen. Because it's a hatchet don't expect to be chopping trees down with it, but if hatchet work is needed, this can do it.

My first "real" hatchet: and I'm in love. Great size to pack, lovely handle that I sanded down a touch to smooth out and get rid of the child safety stamp courtesy of US gov. Then reapplied linseed oil. She's a beaut.
Stupid sharp blade. Don't know how that made it passed the US gov child stamp.

Okay first off my thoughts were, do I really want to spend this kind of money on a hatchet? I wanted something that I could survive with, you know trust my life with. The basis of that is a good foundation, a reliable hatchet. For survival you need to be able to build a fire, build a shelter, and preform the tasks of a knife. The quality of this hatchet is unbeatable and the cosmetics scream put me to work. It is extremely sharp and holds its edge well. When it's at work it feels like a natural extension of your arm. The effort is a good bit less to get the job done as with past hatchet's. I added 8' of paracord to protect the handle, another 12' for the hand loop and added loops in it to hold a fero-rod and sharpening rod. I hope that one day this little hatchet will carry on down the line to my kids and grandkids and so on. With all that said I am really proud to own the Hults Bruk Almike, money well spent.
Spend the money and take care of it.

Spend the money. This came out of the box with a mirror edge that I could and did shave with. Did not even need to strop it. Very good quality and shipped fast. Great piece of Swedish craftsmanship. Just as described and pictured. Nice to know that you can still buy products that are made well enough to hand down to your kids rather than thrown away after a few uses.
