This roof rack is a great product! It has served its purpose well for the last 18 months with little wear or sign of usage. This rack is a very durable rack that meets the expectations given off by the product description. At a price of $149.97, it is one of the cheaper products within the cargo roof rack genre.

Positives
I bought this roof rack in May of 2016. I had the intent of putting it on top of my SUV to hold the spare tire as well as cargo when I go on road trips. Not only has this rack been useful, it makes the vehicle look better, too. I have not removed the rack from the top of my vehicle since I purchased and installed it. So far, it has not given me any problems. It is durable and holds the weight that it is rated for. The extension option is very convenient to hold more cargo while remaining secure and not bending in the center. It attaches very easily to a Chevy Trailblazer and does not move around, even at interstate speeds. The description claims that it has a weight capacity of 250 pounds. I personally have found that it holds up to this claim.

Negatives
One item of the product features list is the black powder coated finish. This finish is not the product's top quality. Even after three months, the weld connections of the rack started to show surface rust. The structural integrity of the metal was not compromised. However, it does look tacky with the rust when it is inspected up close. This is just at the weld connections and not on the main beams of the rack. From a distance this is not an issue, as you cannot see the surface rust very well.

Overall
This roof rack has been a great purchase. It has done what it was meant to do and has improved the look of my vehicle. For the price it is a great buy. Some roof racks can go for over $700 and do the same job as this product. This roof rack is highly recommended and will not let you down when you need to haul cargo around.

The rack goes together well enough. However, when going to install this onto my 2016 Toyota Highlander, I realized 2 things. First, the width of the bars on the extension are narrower than the original rack. This plays a big part with the 2nd point. The 2nd point is that with the spacing of the cross bars on my car, the rack must sit either very far forward or very far back, making it necessary to seat one of the mounts on the extension which lies in the center of the rack. But because the bars are too narrow, I cannot use the mounts as they are designed to be used because the mounts cannot be seated between the bars. My only other choice is to use the mounts without the plastic and use enough tension to try to ensure the rack is secure. In addition the U bolt's screws stick up into the carrier itself which makes it likely to catch on whatever I put into the carrier. I will attempt to install the u bolt upside down in order to avoid this, but I don't know whether this will work. I don't know why the extension's specs should differ so much from the original rack, but that's a real problem. Had I known of these issues, I likely would not have bought this product.

Finish on ours was great, installed fairly easily. One bolt hole came without the nut inside, so had to drill through and use a longer bolt and nylock

Highly adjustable, surprisingly sturdy and extremely useful for our summer trips. Survives the car was just fine and actually looks pretty good.

Believe it or not, while I worried about it wreaking havoc on our gas mileage, and as strange as it sounds we get over 2 MORE mpg with it on, and I'm OCD about logging it. 17.41 avg > 19.64, no other changes on our SUV. I mounted it well back so the rear lift just clears it, and am very happy with it so far. No noises noticed (4/70 AC in constant use), it holds lots of gear and the yak rack is still mountable and clear the risers.

This rack like almost anything these days must be assembled lose until the last screw is attached. After all screws are in place you can then tighten and would recommend silicone on all the joints and seams with lock tight on the screws. This will take on water and will rust leaving rusty water marks on your paint. If you don't have roof rails you will have to purchase some. I had to purchase the Thule gutter mount roof rails in order to mount this rack. It is also not grounded if you should mount a CB, Amateur Radio or other antenna to it. I added aluminum diamond plate to the rack to help keep the Texas Sun off the roof and to keep items from falling through the spaces. I get compliments on this everyday!
