I bought both this box and the small version. The small box is good and the general construction of the large box is good with the exceptions:
1. The buckle snap is not aligned properly (about 1/8" off center) so it CAN NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. When the snap is pushed into the closure, the whole buckle strip is slanted (see photo). This box should have not pass the inspection of the product. I'm not happy with this purchase!
2. The film covering the mirror could not be removed without leaving some tearing along the edges.
The small box I bought at the same time does not have these problems.
This is an update of the product made on 5/16/2018:
Initially I gave the box a one star because of the above problems, and did not want to bother to return the box for a replacement. However, a few days after the purchase, Emily of RG City contacted me about the product. When she heard my complaints about the box, Emily immediately took responsibility by offering an replacement. The new box is perfect and now I am very happy with the purchase.

When you buy the woman you love a jewelry box to store the miscellaneous trinkets you've bought her over time, you're basically saying:
"Keep all this stuff tidy & together, and please be reminded of the love I put into carefully choosing each of these pretty things for you."
If the jewelry box isn't both lovely to look at and useful in keeping things organized, you're in trouble. Instead of reminding her of the trinkets she loves each time she opens it, she will instead be annoyed at the shoddy construction or frustrating issues with the box itself...which will only reflect poorly on you and in some ways diminish her happy memories of the items stored within.
So when you ask the woman you love if she likes her Glenor Co jewelry box and she responds "It's Fantastic!", you know you've done good.
A great box for a great price, classic styling, roomy & organized, warm leather and an attractive metal accent...can't ask for anything more. (Though the extra kisses from the woman you love will be an added bonus well beyond the price you paid.)

Shipping was done very well; it came very carefully packaged to ensure there was no damage. Just to note, on arrival it had a kind of strong chemical smell, so I just left it open and kept the tiers separated for about 24 hours to dispel the smell. With the smell gone, I filled it up. I feel like I would have liked it more if it didn't have the 12 small slots and instead had another 3 bracelet-sized slots or another 2 long slots, but that has more to do with what kind of jewelry I own and thus my personal needs for space than anything else.
Outside of the interior functionality, I can also state that the outside of the case is sleek and visually appealing. This is actually a case I don't mind leaving on a shelf in my room to act decorative, instead of hiding it in the closet. I find that when I have easier access to my jewelry, I'm more likely to actually wear any of it, so this is a definite advantage in my opinion. Overall, it's a good case. I'm happy with it and it's been working well for me.

Bought this in black to replace my tiny jewelry box I've outgrown. After a LOT of research, including purchasing and returning several other jewelry boxes, this was my answer. My earrings are well contained within the partitions (no gaps or openings at the bottom), and the various spaces/sizes worked well for everything from earrings and rings to bracelets and hair flexible rhinestone headbands. I personally wouldn't use this for necklaces (I feel they would get tangled), but the size and style fit what I wanted (gorgeous as a bedroom accent piece). While the ribbons keep the lid from falling back/open (it stays open fine), they do sometimes get caught when closing the lid and stick out. The magnetic latch also is weak, which really isn't a big deal for me. Finally, not sure of the effectiveness of the mirror placement: I'm not going to bend down far enough to use it (and if I place my jewelry box high enough to use the mirror I won't see the contents), so my guess is it's a stylistic choice.

I must admit that despite the wonderful reviews, I was just a little skeptical about purchasing yet another particular jewelry box. I have other jewelry boxes however over time they just seemed so inadequate and lackluster that I found myself just tossing in earrings and bracelets into them and sticking the boxes back into my closet. I decided to order this jewelry box because the reviews were so good. The package arrived on time (no surprises there) but when I opened the beautiful black box with the GLENOR CO wording, it felt like I had sent a gift to myself! I took the jewelry box out of the black packing box and opened it carefully. The box was very well wrapped for shipping. The look and feel of the box itself was wonderful--even the clasp is very nice! The "Thank You" note from the Glenor Co was classy! The compartments are perfect for my earrings, bracelets and necklaces. I love the satin ribbons and the mirror is a great feature. I have no doubt that I will enjoy this purchase, I am planning to buy more of these for my Mom and my sisters as birthday gifts! This jewelry box is so elegant that it will be the feature piece on my dresser!
