In all my years, I have always purchased a stainless kettle to heat water for tea, etc. FINALLY, after all these years -- it hit me -- I realized I was tired of filling stainless kettles with inconvenient lids, frequently over filling it b/c I couldn't see how much water I was putting in unless I measured it, and not being able to see where it's at in the boiling process (not all teas require rapidly boiling water). I knew there had to be a better option -- and there is -- THIS glass kettle right here!! You came to the right place if you're looking for a beautiful whistling kettle where you can fill it easily, know exactly how much water you're adding, and know when it's about to boil. I've used this brand of kettle over 10 years. A glass kettle gives such clean pure taste. Once I learned to put soap and a washcloth inside, then put in my food brush, clean and rinse. I only have to do this about once every 6 weeks, and only then because I enjoy a sparkling clean kettle. Will continue using them. Mine last about 5 years.

Not the cutest tea pot if you are looking to leave on your stove top but it works well for the price point. I wish the opening was a bit larger so you can get your hand in for easy cleaning but it is large enough and easy enough to get a flexible scrub brush in.

I like this pot, and I use it often, with the small wire included. Do use the wire, if you have a flat stove top, because it extends the life of the product.
I wish I'd read the part that informs you have to remove the black top in order to pour, though.
