It's pretty much what you need in a lock for the gym. I like that you can set your own combination so you don't have to remember random numbers. And I hate the spin dial locks. My only slight complaint about the lock is that when the lock is on my gym locker, the numbers have a hard time spinning when I am pulling down on the lock. Therefore I have to push up on the lock so that the ring is more inside the actual lock. Hope that makes sense. This isn't a deal-breaker, though.

I love my combination lock - now I can remember my combo! It is very sturdy and durable. It was very easy to set my combination, instructions were clear and easy. High quality and well made, my only compliant is that they don't have color options. It would also be helpful to have bigger numbers (lol, I'm getting old) but I would definitely purchase this again or as a gift. I purchased this for one of my students after she locked her key to her keyed lock inside the locker. This is easy to use and we were able to pick the code so it is something she is familiar with. The display on the side instead of the front makes it harder to see as she has to twist the lock to make sure she has the correct code on it. Also, you have to hold the lock in the locked position and rotate off the combination to lock it. This does not lock if the combination has been changed before re-closing it, there was a learning curve to getting this locked.

So far so awesome! I'm using this on a gate that is in direct sight of the Arizona sun. I'll update if anything changes.
As of June 2018, after using this for a year, the lock acts brand new. We use it on a gate that is in direct line of the Yuma Arizona sun and other than the color being faded it has proven itself over and over again. We use the gate minimally 10 times a day, so that's at least 3650 uses. It doesn't heat up much more than warm water in 100 plus temperatures.
I recommend this for anyone and everyones uses.

I bought this to secure my gym locker and it does exactly that, maybe a bit beefier than needed. Where it lacks I feel is the body's construction, it has a plastic and loose feeling which takes away from the solid metal impression I first had. The lock still preforms it's function and for the gym I like it better than the combo or key locks.
