Put the old one back in. Now, working fine. !?
R. JoeSeptember 15, 2017
Unused, instead removed, disassembled, lubed, and reused the one that was sticking hanging up.

Problem was the lever not return, resetting and the toilet tank not sealing refilling.

Looking at the "bad" having uninstalled, removed from tank; there just one phillips screw in the handle. Thinking maybe it was loose or out of adjustment; loosened, backed out, and re-tightened. Shot of silicon spray lube, handier than finding some grease which more ideal.

Put the old one back in. Working fine.

This replacement parts hopefully somewhere I can remember, find; next time...

Hard to get that excited about a flush lever, but I bought a 'universal' one at a big box retailer that was pure junk. It was plastic sections linked together. This is a nice hunk of metal, I bent it slightly with pliers and it's perfect. Nice satisfying flush.
Great product though

At first did not fit out of the box for my Toto c853 . The square shaft was too large for the handle hole even after taken off the rubber gasket on the shaft. Used old Toto shaft by unscrewing the screw that hold the shaft to the knob. Don't tighten all the way otherwise the knob would not turn freely. Add a smidgen of crazy glue to the screw thread and tighten all the way THEN turn back a little to keep knob rotating freely. The knob handle has improved on Toto's design by adding reinforcement to the lift slot. That's where the Toto design failed in the slot. Great product though.Just needed a custom fit for the Toto C853
Perfect for a side-flush Mansfield Toilet . . . if you really tighten it down.

That worked PERFECTLY for our 15-year old side-flush Mansfield toilet. (There's no model number on the toilet, just a Mansfield stamp in the center). Anyway, we tried the plastic version that came with the so-called "Universal" replacement kit. It didn't work, and then we bought another plastic side-mount handle at Home Depot, which also didn't work. I ordered this one on Amazon. It showed up in two days, and I installed it in two minutes. The only minor issue I had was that I needed to reaaaaallly tighten down the handle from the inside, so that it fit right us next to the toilet.)
Seems shoddy.

The lever doesn't fit properly. The rubber gasket is too big for the hole, and using it without the gasket means the handle shucks around. It also slips off the actual bar that lifts the arm. Why it was made in two parts like that is beyond me. But while I've been able to fix the problem in the past, it happens all the time now, and I have to replace the entire mechanism.

ETA: I've added a third star to reflect that the company contacted me within 24 hours to make the problem right. That kind of service is worth an extra star for sure. V. impressive.
