strong leash - good for heavy chewers
JulieRez✓ Verified Purchase•April 30, 2018
This is our 3rd time purchasing this exact leash in the last year. Our dog is a heavy heavy chewer. When we first got him, he was going through 1 leash every couple of weeks. We were using the leash when training, so taking him off leash just wasn't an option. Our trainer suggested this leash and recommended stocking up on extras when ever the leash starts fraying. This leash is stronger and thicker than most and at 6ft, it's a good length for dogs that need to be on-leash during walks. Definitely recommend
Good, but not perfect.

I ordered this leash to replace one ( a different brand) that was well-worn and tended to slip open at times. This is well-constructed, and the handle is quite comfortable. However, my dog wears a harness with a top-side leash attachment (my preference). He likes to throw himself on the ground and roll in the grass, and when he did that once last week, the closure on this leash did slip open, separating the leash from the harness. I'm hoping that it was a one-time happening. My dog is fairly obedient, but if a fox were in the vicinity and he wasn't on the leash, he would disappear.

At first I did not care for the leash simply because it was different than the thick nylon leash I purchased back some 20 years ago. But the new nylon leashes are thinner and I was forced to accept this new style leash (I hate change BTW). Now after using with my Golden Mixed who has grown to 82 lbs., like my AMEX Card, I wouldn't leave home without it. This leash is BETTTER than my old thick nylon in a couple ways:
First the leash glides easily thru your hands if your pup needs more leash such as when Wrigley did his morning business but yet the leash is thick enough to get a good grip if needed.
Second the padded handle turned out to be wonderful tool in disguise, if Wrigley gets a little ahead in his heel and isn't paying attention I have enough slack in the leash I can simply "pop him" in his rear end or underbelly and get his attention and put him back into heel position - I have found this very useful and it doesn't hurt him at all, so don't go there if you are thinking that, I LOVE Wrigley - You'll need to develop your own system but I have found it very useful.
Picture is of Wrigley on a long line practicing sit/stay/come/heel.

Bought 2 at different times and second leash poorer quality

I bought one of these leashes in July and have used it everyday since. I am happy with it. However, it is December 14 and I just purchased another one and it is a bit different. The hook is much lighter and the latch isn't tight . I am uneasy using it on my large dog. The first leash I give 4 stars. I like everything about it but the latch jiggles a little. The second I give 2 stars because of the light weight hook with a super flimsy latch.
Broke after 4 months

I loved the leash too for the first 4 months, but the cap fell out of the clip and lost the spring, so my dog came off leash while walking down the street with my husband. I see that this has happened to other reviewers, so definitely an issue that they need to review and fix.
