Great sounding passive pick-up

Great sounding passive pick-up. Way better than OEM piezoelectric saddle pick-up. Pretty easy install. Simply remove the strings and glue the 2 discs onto the bridge plate. You will need to purchase superglue GEL (which won't run and drip and also allows you to reposition the pickups as the gel dries, under 30 seconds) You will also need latex gloves to keep the glue off your fingers. Go to the K&K website to see the installation procedure. As it's passive, no batteries are needed. The signal is as strong as my passive Fender basses. The overall sound is detailed and deep, no thin quack and no batteries to pollute with. Highly recommended and under $100.

I put this on an Indiana Scout acoustic bass guitar that I was previously amplifying with a cardioid condenser instrument microphone. The sound from the K&K bass pickup is just as true as the microphone and I get greater volume with no feedback worries. Plus, with the K&K I can control the sound better with the tone controls on on the amplifier than I could with the microphone.
Installation was easier than expected. Just follow the instructions carefully and do as they say. I did it when I was putting on new strings and the whole project took less than two hours.

You know how your typical ABG sounds pretty good acoustically, but harsh and tinny and brittle when plugged in? That's because piezo pickups do a rather poor job of really capturing the tone of your guitar or bass. You can pay $300 or $3000 for your instrument, but once you plug it in with a piezo and a preamp, it's hard to tell the difference. NOT SO with the K&K. If you have a great sounding acoustic guitar or bass, the K&K will represent the tone of your pride and joy with wonderful accuracy. It's the sound of your instrument, amplified. It doesn't get any clearer than this, and to that, it doesn't get any clearer that THIS is the next ABG pickup you should buy.
