Decent bike but may need adjustments
Samantha ✓ Verified Purchase•September 29, 2023
The bike is decent but had some issues to start. Handles are comfortable, seat is good but I still use gel top seat cover I had from my previous bike. It's not the lightest but not the heaviest either, I don't think 30 lbs is too bad. I like the suspension for sure, hard to find a full suspension for a better price. I don't like the fact the water bottle holder is under the bike right near the tires, you'll literally be drinking dust. Im not sure I would've been able to get it together myself - thankfully my boyfriend knows a lot about putting together and tweaking bikes, because after it was together it didn't shift properly. I took the bike out for a ride and as I tried shifting down the thing just wouldn't cooperate. I was stuck in 5th gear the whole trip and ended up walking up the hills. I decided to try my sons bike (same kind, also new, and found his bike shifted right, so it was just an issue w/ mine) After that my Bf worked on it some more and finally it started to shift better, not perfect but definitely better. I was not impressed by the tires either, no grip, sissy tires don't work good on trails, need traction for stones. Honestly hoping for a flat tire just so I have a reason to get new ones, I've decided to just deal w/ them for now. Other than the shifting issue and the wimpy tires the bike isn't bad at all, especially for the price.
Light weight

Loved the duel suspension
[EDIT] Disappointing failure but fun for a few miles

EDIT: getting bike repaired by professional and will update based on how it rides when tuned
(Originally 1 star and original review below)
The bike is destroyed because of cheap components
First I realized it came with a different and older suspension format compared to what was in the picture, and that was the whole reason I bought that model. The spring attaches to the bottom tube at an off angle instead of the top tube. On the third ride of the bike with less than 50 miles total on it, a gear change on a flat, not under load, caused the chain and derailleur to go inside of the spokes and destroyed the whole drivetrain. This happened to other people and reviews I saw but I just assumed they set it up wrong. Everything was set up and tightened but the free wheel they used was a super cheapo - one that slips and skips all the time. Also the chain rings on the crank arm are cheaply welded together and non-replaceable. The headset is threadless and even if you tighten it up really heavily, the handlebars come off alignment from the fork and front wheel. They cheaped out on all the components you can't see easily in the pictures.
PROS: The full suspension is awesome as I've never ridden a full suspension before and I was able to take it on all sorts of crazy off-road trails.
Conclusion: Don't buy this unless you have the know-how and parts to replace the free wheel, the crank arm & front chain rings, and swap out the headset

Very smooth and quiet

Well, it's been a week since I got the bike, so I decided to write my review now.
The bike came in half assembled so it didn't take me too long to put it all together, I only had to do some minor adjustments and add air to the tires, with that I was out of the house giving it the first try, went around the block and was quite pleased with the handling and overall feel of the bike.
Since then I added a handlebar riser to make it easier on my back, changed the factory seat for a comfort one and installed a bike computer that I had on my previous bike, that's about all I have done to get it where I wanted it.
I have put about 40 miles on it since then and I am very impressed with how quiet and smooth this bike is, my previous bike was a Genesis Max air 29", which was pretty good for a Wal-Mart bike but didn't have rear suspension and it was taking a toll on my back and butt. The Gravity certainly earns its name when it comes to lessen gravity's effects, the rear suspension does it job. Same goes for the dual disc brakes, very effective.
I have gotten a few stares while street riding, I am not sure if it is the cool bright yellow looks of the bike or the fat guy riding it, but I am happy either way.
I have read some folks complaining about the tires not being big enough for dirt but so far, I have not had any issues with them, half of my riding is done on rough terrain and they have performed well so far.
As far as cons I only have one, the position of the water bottle holes, I installed a holder and used it once, the amount of mud I got on the bottle made it not very appealing to drink from, however, looking at the frame of the bike I can't think of any other place they could have to put it so I guess it's fine.
Again, overall, I am very happy with the bike and I hope it stays as it is for a long time.

Review changed ... chain broke. 21" Frame great for a 6'-6" 285 pound man.

Below you see my original 5 star review. Unfortunately, the chain broke on my third ride.
I am not sure about recommending this bike for a large man. It's just the chain, I should have had the derailer professionally adjusted maybe. I'll still give it 4 stars.
I ordered this bike with apprehension, being a bit larger than the average bear. I'm 6'-6", so I thought I would take a chance. The parts are top quality for a bike this price(under $400), and the front/rear disk brakes AND front/rear suspension are unheard of at under $400, at least everywhere I looked.
I got the box, and took the bike out of the box. I only had to attach the handlebars to the frame, attach the front wheel, and the pedals. I discovered I also had to attach a front brake line. Then I put the seat on and tightened it up. Easy enough to do everything with a 5mm hex wrench. Everything looked great!
Then I got on the bike and took off. Pretty much a disaster. I'm glad I survived. I hadn't really ridden a mountain bike for several years, and forgot there's a little bit more work needed to do after the bike is "assembled".
First thing, this bike is plenty big for me, and I realized I had the bike seat about 5 inches higher than I should have. That made things scary. I'm just used to having to put the seat high.
Second thing, with my large frame I thought I was going to have to replace the front forks. Way too soft. I went and got myself a pliers first and tightened them up as tight as they would possibly go. It turns out they are perfect now!! No need for replacements.
Third, air in the tires seems to be a necessary thing. I filled them from 3 psi up to 55 psi. They are working great.
Fourth, the front disk brake caliper needed to be moved a bit to let the wheel spin freely, and both front and rear brakes needed to be tightened up a bunch!
After these adjustments the bike works great for my 6'-6" body. No bike shop or replacements needed.
I love this bike.
Feel free to contact me for some help with any of the above mentioned adjustments. Maybe I could send you a pic or a video of how to do them. I would love to help if I can.
