Fit my 2009 xt250 perfectly. Durable construction with nice finish. It does have some flex if you pick the bike up by the grab handles as they are moved off the frame onto the rack. Still plenty strong to lift the bike. It is a bit heavy as it is steel construction. An aluminum rack would be lighter but you would pay a pretty price for it.
it is a strong and sturdy rack. It has plenty of surface area (space)

Installed it on a 2017 Yamaha xt250. It took 2 people to install - you just need an extra pair of hands.
One place the paint chipped off, but that doesn't bother me. Overall, once installed, it is a strong and sturdy rack. It has plenty of surface area (space), unlike many of the other racks for my bike.
Installation - 3 stars
After installation - 5 stars

This rack is great seems to be heavy duty everything lined up perfect paint job on mine seems fine been using it for a while and the paint hasn't rubbed off yet.
If 4.5 stars was available, I'd probably choose that.

Quality of the rack is an easy 5-star choice...so why would I give it 4-stars? Instructions. And maybe because I'm old...like my little air-cooled "dirt bike" ;) so I didn't use the interwebs and its fancy videofication to find some.
That said - if you can change your own air filter and you know the difference between a box-end wrench and an allen key you can probably just figure this out. It's a very simple upgrade and very well thought out by the folks at Ferreus. It uses the same bolts + new ones and includes handy spacers that make everything fit just right. I had to do a few tings twice while I was figuring it out - but it wasn't enough to frustrate me...jut had to take my time since I'm too damn stubborn to go online. And yeah, I don't stop and ask for directions either. :P
The rack itself is pretty impressive. Solid, large, reasonable weight...all good. But somebody took the time to lay out all the little slots and cutouts. Bungee hooks fit nicely through seemingly random slots making them much less random once you're using them. Nice detents underneath keep bungees from sliding around. The re-use of the little handy-handles on the rear of the bike are a nice touch too.
So - all things considered - very satisfied with this choice. I'd highly recommend it if your looking for something better than the little plastic fender pad that you're currently trying to strap stuff to.

Either I got a bad rack or it is a poor design

This rack did not last 3 months before it broke. I ride a Yamaha XT 250 and I don't ride hard. I have not put more than 10 pounds on the rack.. Either I got a bad rack or it is a poor design.
Update:
I emailed the company and advised them that the rack had broken. After seeing the picture of the break, they sent me a new rack immediately. Great support! Beware that this rack is not up to very bumpy environments. If you use this mainly for street use this rack should be fine. If you ride mostly dirt roads with lots of wash boards and bumps I would recommend a heavier rack.
