Easy to put on and work awesome. Tried them hiking up the lower portion of Mount Washington. trail was snow and ice. felt very secure, I do wish they came with storage bags that would have made them 6 stars. Overall very good quality.
crampons fit well on my boots and traction was very good on ice terrian

Tried once on a freezing day in white mountain, crampons fit well on my boots and traction was very good on ice terrian, however, it's very difficult to release the front buckle until I found a place to seat and removed both of my gloves, then made it happen.
The front and back string (for my boots) appear much longer than the profile picture. I couldn't fold the back string to make it shorter.
I couldn't stretch the snow release skin onto the crampon as well.
I don't conside it's ultralight creampon. It's still double the weight of Kahtoola micrespike. I feel the weight when I clime the hill, it's ok when walk down.

Amazing set of crampons from Kahtoola. I usually buy microspikes because.....well they are more affordable and lighter to carry around. These Spikes are essentially a cross between Actually crampons and microspikes, meaning they are far more aggressive than microspikes but still not quite as technical as say Grivel crampons. They are just right for the type of trekking i'll be doing which is hiking usually on hard packed snow on a good 45-55 degree angle. These also fit my shoes perfect, i wear a size 10.5 in hiking boots. I think these wouldnt go further than a size 12 though. Perfect and imperative piece of equipment for winter treks.
Grippy things...

I used these crampons this weekend on an icy mountain trail. They worked fantastic. Gripped like nothing I have ever worn before. They were easy to adjust out of the box, only took 5 minutes. They stayed adjusted where I had set them also which is important. I didn't want to have to readjust on the trail. The snap closures worked perfectly. Very tight and secure. Footing was amazing. After hiking for years without these I will never hike in ice or snow without them from now on. Good quality, good price, easy to carry along when not in use. Just clip to your back pack. Totally sold on these. I had researched others and read a ton of reviews and bought these. Very happy with my purchase.
Great for icy mountain conditions

I have worn these on three mountain hikes in Upstate New York so far and am very pleased with them. First hike was Belfry Mountain near Mineville, NY. Not a challenging hike, but most of the trail is covered in solid ice. I had no trouble navigating the trail. Next hike was far more challenging: Hurricane Mountain in the Adirondacks near Keene, New York. Elevation 3694 feet, trail length of 3.4 miles and an elevation gain of 2,000 feet. Most of the bare rock and trail on the steep sections were covered in thick slabs of ice. Did not slip on the ice at all on the ascent or descent. Third hike was Balsam Lake Mountain in the Catskills near Margaretville, New York. Due to warm weather, most of the trail was bare (no snow or ice). But there were a few sections that were still covered in thick ice. The K10s were easy to take on and off as needed to navigate the trail. I wear the K10s over my Merrell hiking boots.
