I have barely had this shoulder rest for two months and the wood has completely cracked on one side of the rest. I previously had to return one ordered from another website because the foam was torn and wasn't even cut correctly to fit the wood shape. Overall my experience with this expensive shoulder rest has been miserable and I am very disappointed with the product quality.

It is a very beautiful shoulder rest with nice wood frame. As the VLM 'professional' model fits my shoulder really well, I was expecting this one to be of the same shape, so bought it as a backup, but it has less arch compared to the 'professional' model, and wasn't a good fit for me, so it was returned. But overall it's a good product and recommended.

This is the best shoulder rest I have had in 15 years of playing the violin and trying a number of them. It is highly adjustable and the wood really helps the acoustic properties of the violin. (This is the first wood shoulder rest I have had, since they are usually so expensive but Amazon has an amazing price for this.) I would say it is at a medium height, a similar height to the Kun Collapsible rest. From years of playing, I know that I can't use shoulder rests that are too high or too low. I would highly recommend it if you are wanting to try a new shoulder rest out.
