Just take it out of the box and stick it in one of your many plants. It tells you if it needs water. Could've easier to use. Perfect for larger plants so you don't have to guess if roots are thirsty or if they are drowned. Where has this item been all my plant life?

I've been using it for several deck planters and it seems good about picking up when the soil is dry. It doesn't really tell you when to water (I guess that would be a problem as different plants need different amounts of moisture). It is easy to read and use (just stick it deep into the planter around the roots) but I'm not sure when I should water them as there is no guide for this. I mean, do I water when its totally dry or when it hits the dry region? One plant gets wilted even when the meter says moist so I guess I need to water that one more. Oh well, I guess I'll eventually figure it out :)
